5.0 out of 5 stars The Best
These are, by far, the best sandals I have ever slipped onto my feet. I've tried Rainbow leathers, Tevas, Reefs, and various surf-sandals, but there has never been another pair that comes remotely close to the comfort these sandals provide.

I've worn Rainbows exclusively for about 7-8 years and figured I'd give the hempies a try. At first I really enjoyed the sandal, the feeling of hemp after all of the years of cold leather was, for lack of a better word, comforting. These are, by far, the best sandals I have ever slipped onto my feet. I've tried Rainbow leathers, Tevas, Reefs, and various surf-sandals, but there has never been another pair that comes remotely close to the comfort these sandals provide.

First of all, the hemp is a nice change. As soon as I slipped on these sandals for the first time, I knew I would be buying them. Extended wear does not hurt your feet. While the straps are not leather and will not become "butter soft" after a few wears, they are still extremely comfortable.

After about a year of constant wear, the sandals STILL hold up strong. If you are into the vintage styling of today, with extensive fraying, these are definitely the sandals for you! The outer edges of the soul have been frayed and the sandals look even cooler now.

These sandals are worth every single penny you pay for them. I bought these new for at least $20 more than what is being asked here at Amazon and I don't regret paying that for these Rainbows one bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sandals, May 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Over the spring and summer these are my main footwear. If you have high arches, the double layer Rainbows are the only way to go. As far as hemp vs leather; the leather ones have a more comfortable sole while the hemp have a more comfortable strap. The hemp ones also don't last quite as long, but are more sustainable. I really am stuck between the two, so I just switch every time I need a new pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars For The Ones With The Cheddar., April 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great flip-flops, I love Rainbows and they are not in any way a hype or placebo. These are LEGIT. They are hard yet comfy.

Hemp: Definitely not butter soft and rubbed my feet raw. I love the idea but I've felt softer hemp.

Straps: Rough, afraid of the hemp falling apart. The strap between the toes is not soft either and hurts at first.

Shape: Made for perfect California surfer feet. When they break in, your heel will not be centered but on the edge of the flop.

Color: Great brown (ones I got) and look good with a lot.

Height: Seem a bit high but I get the double stack = longer sole life.

Comfy-factor: the hemp seems to soften over time and when getting wet but for now they are not as comfortable as my

Teva Men's Mush II Flip Flop

Overall: They are nice, I like the idea behind them and the love towards them but the leathers and the hemps may not be for you (comfort wise).

I love you RainbowSandals.com

-Jammin'

UPDATE: Had them for a good while now, and disregard all said before, THEY ROCK. They have softened and the highlight of my day is wearing them, they have an awesome "worn" look from molding to your feet and the brown is a spot-on color with all outfits. BUY THEM.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hemp double stack-great flip flop!, April 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This flip flop is very comfy and provides great heal support. The break in period seems much shorter than the leather Rainbow flip flops. They show dirt much faster because of the the light color hemp, but I think it just gives the sandals character. I've been impressed so far.

Not much to say. These are great! I love the hemp as they absorb moisture and don't get as sweaty on hot days. This is my second pair of the EXACT same shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars the wise flip flopper prefers double stack, August 17, 2008

The uncomfortable breaking in period (about a week) is well worth it. Great arch support, hemp stays relatively dry even on 90+ degree days, and the pillowy double stack padding made me a believer. Very pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars rainbow sandals, May 22, 2008
Best sandals I've ever had...took 3 weeks to break in, then it was like they were hugging my feet. I've noticed less back pain, most likely as a result of improved posture from the free-form sole. I can't take them off...

3.0 out of 5 stars Little disappointed, January 2, 2012

I've worn Rainbows exclusively for about 7-8 years and figured I'd give the hempies a try. At first I really enjoyed the sandal, the feeling of hemp after all of the years of cold leather was, for lack of a better word, comforting. This only issue I had with these was that the hemp material wore down in no time; I reckon it was less than 2 months before my big toes on both feet were breaking down to the next layer. The hemp material also started to gunk-up a bit within a couple uses which left them a bit more unsightly than the leathers (I'm not THAT dirty). If I purchased another pair I would probably just make sure its not my daily sandal.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST Flip Flop Ever, You must buy it, November 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My wife got me to start wearing flip flops about three years ago. My first pair was by Quicksilver and felt like I was showering in a college community shower after ten minutes. Then I bought a pair of TEVA's on clearance, and they were nice for $17, but the sole was about 1/4 in thick. Then my wife introduced me to the RAINBOWS! She has ankle problems and still loves them. Buy the double sole for another $5. I can't believe that I love to wear flip flops now, but for the money you have to get these Rainbows. I like the hemp, she likes the leather. Either way they are great and we will never buy another flip flop other than Rainbow.
