I wanted this Bible for Mother's Day after I did not get it I ordered it on June 25 and got it rather quickly. Enough said about the wonderful shipping time with Amazon Prime.

I normally do not like Bibles that do not have the words of Christ in red but this Bible is sensational. I love it!!!! I like the way it gives an overview of each book of the Bible. The colorful maps and illustrations make this Bible beautiful. At the end of the Bible there are 365 memory verses to be learned each day. So not only is studying emphasized but learning scriptures is also emphasized.

This Bible is wonderful for individuals who are new to reading the Bible. I would highly recommend geting this Bible as a gift for a new convert or seasoned veteran in the Gospel who is interested in in depth study. Reading this Bible is fun.

The Rainbow Study Bible has every verse color coded according to one of 12 different themes. (Attributes of God, love, sin, faith, discipleship are just 5 of the 12) It is amazing how this can help your comprehension! The KJV can be a more challenging version, due to the language usage, but it is also much richer in intensity of words chosen. The Rainbow color coding adds tremendous clarity.
In the Proverbs, for example, many verses have a 'what if you do the right thing' part paired with a 'what if you sin' part. The visual impact of the change of colors emphasizes the difference dramatically.
The colors are pale enough that you can use your own colored pencils/pens to add comments or highlight even further. The words of God are underlined throughout the Old and New Testaments. Most versions include cross references in the center margin. The maps, concordance, and daily verse to memorize are very nice features.

The color coding system in the Rainbow Bible helps me think more analytically when reading passages that are familiar,and to see the Bible as a whole (rather than a Book with lots of divisions and interruptions, i.e. chapters and verses, and inserted study notes), with recurring themes that run throughout the Old and New Testaments. It helps me better understand both the truths God is conveying to mankind, and the continuity and consistency with which these truths were written in each time period of the Bible's history......a refreshing eye opener!

I was able to purchase mine used, very cheaply. The pages were intact, but the vinyl imitation leather cover had bubbled and distorted (probably left in a hot car for too long). The Rainbow Bible is so special to me, that I decided it was worth it to have it rebound in durable genuine leather (at Leonard's Books, which does quality work. I was informed by this business that the spines in these Bibles have glued, as opposed to stitched bindings, so Leonard's provided the lacking stitches, as well). I know this Bible will be my comforting companion for many years to come.
