An exciting and enchanting story,
By Oliver Richard (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Rainbow Warrior (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and how refreshing it is that a story should have such a thought provoking theme while maintaining wonderfully light and bright imagines. This book falls into the currently popular children/adult gendre, which is useful when it comes to reading to the children at bedtime! I think that it is unclear whether this book is more entertaining for the children or the adults. It is also satisfying to know that there is a moral `theme' (which plays throughout the book) which, in an uncertain world, is good to know. It soon becomes clearer, as the story unfolds, that the authors hold strong views, and the way in which Basil and Carola become the conduit for these views as they travel through cyber space is intriguing and enchanting. This book certainly deserves to be successful, and I hope that it receives the wide recognition, I believe it deserves.

GIVE PEACE A CHANCETo promote non-violence and educate in the culture of peace through this fantastic tale is th purpose of this novel in which two teenagers from planet Earth must save planet Plutonio. The rich fantasy of the authors, web a story with multitude of characters that are closer to a fable and a tale than a novel. The difficult moment that our world is going through and the similarities in this compelling story with its backgroungd of war and greed are astounding as the I, makes egoism the engine that moves the world. The principles to educate in the science of peace flow like a river, specially at the end of the novel were we learn that common welfare should always come before our own individual one. In the very difficult task of achieveing universal peace each one of us individuals, have great responsability as we discover that internal peace is the first step of the process. The need to encourage forgiveness, to learn that conflicts arise from the experimentation of individualism, that how in war there are no innocent spectators and that we need to take a stand for peace with the truth in the forefront, are some of the valuable ideas perfectly integrated in the text of this fascinating story. World evolution will be possible if we sincerely and personally promote the principles of justice, peace, honesty, transparency and equality. And althouh those politicians that make war will never read this book at least those of us who strive for peace, will have many new arguments to give them. I hope The Rainbow Warrior will be an international success. Not only because 10% of all royalties go to several NGO's but mainly it will mean that there will be a chance for this world to be a better one. RICHARD ALCON MYNT MAGAZINE |
