This fits my LX7 comfortably. No bad smells, and the leather is nice. It actually feels like something that should cost a lot more than it does.

As a case, it is just right, so I give it five stars. The only caveat: it fits the camera so well there is no room under the front bulge for an LX7 auto lens cap. Since the LX5 lens differs from that of the LX7, this case fits over an LX5 with its auto lens cap, which is great. But since the LX7 auto lens cap is bigger, the front of the case will not fit over it.

Actually, the part of the case that goes on the body is a nice wrap for that, and the auto lens cap protects the lens from impacts, so the case is worth having.

The quarter-inch nut on the bottom works fine. Not much else to it.

It's ok - I guess I was being a bit cheap by not getting the "offical" LX-7 case or one of the nice ones off of eBay (Korean with the metal holster mount - Garis?).

The bottom half screws onto the tripod mount (using a plastic screw which could break if overtightened) and then the top can snap on using two side snaps, then the bottom snap after covering the lens.

It's great protection while adding a little bulk, however, it's a bit cumbersome. I almost wish they left the back window open or came up with a better way to unfold the top. Let me explain: When you want to quickly take a picture, you can unsnap the bottom, flip the cover over the lens, and you'd almost be ready to shoot, but the cover still obscures the LCD so it's hard to frame the shot without also unsnapping at least one of the side snaps. If you undo just one of the side snaps, the top dangles awkwardly so it's best to take the top half off completely and stash it while shooting.

it also comes with a cheap-looking neck strap but I chose not to use that.

At first glance it looked as a nice addition to my camera, This case is very well done
but in my opinion it is to tight of a fit.
Send it back and got a full refund
