5.0 out of 5 stars Best therapy EVER
I learned this for my friend who has a curved back-very painful. We did it once a week for 14 weeks. Doctor said it was completely healed and during surgery only needed to remove some splinters. The video also helps you learn the technique. Both together are an excellent way to learn. Anyone can do this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Raindrop Therapy, December 15, 2006
This review is from: Raindrop Technique (Paperback)
First, I am not a member of Young Living. There are several other very reputable essential oil companies out there who sell organic and sustainably wildcrafted oils with gas chromotography proof of purity. I am a student of aromatherapy and even I know reactions may occur with any oil placed on the skin. This does does mean the therapy (raindrop), the oil, or the aromatherapist are at fault. If you eat a crappy diet or eat well and still use commercial personal care products loaded with petroleum derivatives and other chemicals, then you are more likely to have an adverse reaction occur and manifest on your skin. Chem #1 + Chem #2 = Chem #3 occuring right there on your skin.
Raindrop Therapy is a very fine therapy and has helped many immensely. I am currently learning it myself and practicing on my family with very fine results. Keep an open mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raindrop Technique is incredible!!, January 21, 2008
This review is from: Raindrop Technique (Paperback)
I am going to massage school & my teacher introduced the raindrop technique to us. I had the raindrop technique done on me 3x it was awesome. It helped with my scolosis, gave me energy & I also felt relaxed within those 3x times I had it done on me. It also gave me clarity & I felt more grounded, balanced in my life. Now I'm giving it to my friends & family & they think its AMAZING. My mom felt relaxed and it help her fibromyalgia. I highly recommend the raindrop technique. I absolutely love the young living essential oils.

1.0 out of 5 stars The side effects of the treatment, September 18, 2005
This review is from: Raindrop Technique (Paperback)
I received the raindrop technique treatment, and the experience was wonderful. The essential oils generate a deep heat that you can feel in your spine. I've had chronic daily pain in my back since 1997 from repetitive motion injuries. When I got off the table after the treatment, I had NO pain, and I mean ZERO pain, for the first time in years. It was extraordinary. My range of motion was increased and I just wanted to cry from the relief. It lasted for about 2-3 days, which didn't surprise me all that much.. it takes more than one day to heal from years of pain and scar tissue. HOWEVER...2-3 days after the treatment, I became extremely ill. My lungs became so severely congested that it felt like they were being ripped out when I coughed. I have never been that congested in my entire life and it lasted for almost a month. I then did more research on the essential oils used in the treatment. And I wish I had done that beforehand. First of all, articles regarding Gary Young's complete lack of credentials are fairly easy to find online. Secondly, some of the oils can cause allergic reactions if not used properly. When someone has alot of scar tissue in their connective tissues and muscles, there are toxins such as lactic acid and metabolic wastes that are locked into those tissues. If those metabolic chemicals are all suddenly released into the bloodstream, it can cause a detox reaction. Many people might have a fabulous experience with the raindrop technique. But it's really not wise at all to just treat anyone without consideration of these, and other factors. I am a licensed massage practitioner. And I'm advising other LMP's not to approach raindrop therapy like it's just a feel good spa technique. Do your homework before you just start treating people with these oils.

If you have taken Raindrop Technique training, or have learned from the DVD, this book is a WONDERFUL reference and reminder of what the process is. Black & white photos of different set-ups and steps of the technique. Well worth the price. Highly recommended!

1.0 out of 5 stars Raindrop Quackery, October 1, 2006

This review is from: Raindrop Technique (Paperback)
I agree with the sentiments of the previous two reviewers.

I had the Raindrop Technique performed on me by a 'certified' aromatherapist
(most likely certified by Gary D. Young?)and my skin's reaction was
to turn beet red along with an intense burning sensation. Obviously,
an allergic reaction to the applied neat essential oils. The aromatherapist
in question, seemed perplexed and replied, "Hmm, this shouldn't be
happening!"
Well, any aromatherapist worth her/his salt, should know that one
does not apply undiluted essential oils directly onto the skin!
Since then, I've done my homework and I have found these facts:
1) Gary D. Young bought his N.D. degree from a Bernadean University,
which is a diploma mill. (Type the school's 'name' in any search
engine).
2) In the state of Utah, it is illegal for a licensed homeopathic
professional to sell (retail, wholesaler, distributor, etc) homeopathic
remedies., yet on many distributor websites, you will read that Young
is listed as an N.D.(Young was not listed as a licensed professional
in the state of Utah's DOPL database).
This man has a long list of unsubstantiated claims in his background,
yet try to tell that to his devotees. They will only laugh 'knowingly'
and believe you to be an antagonistic naysayer.

What concerns me most is I am afraid many people will be turned
off by essential oils, based on the claims of this one man.
Another thing to me that I find disturbing is the unadulterated
devotion that distributors hold for this man.
(Think of a cult.)
Scary!

1.0 out of 5 stars Its complete crap, September 15, 2005
This review is from: Raindrop Technique (Paperback)
This is yet another book where anyone who passed a high school bio class will know is crap. [...] he seems to have found a devoted crew of morons who believe that he really can cure all. If you ever go to one of their conventions, you'll know that its AMWAY for stupid soccer moms with allergic kids.
