Michael Q. Pink's "Rainforest Strategy" is a fascinating read that bases a business model on the ecosystem of the rainforest. It is educational. It is inspirational. It is mind-blowing in its genius and simplicity. Everyone in business should read this book regardless of their role. For that matter, anyone who interacts with someone in business should pick up this incredible read. And I believe that would encompass nearly everyone on the planet - unless of course you live in the rainforest, but then you probably already know everything contained in these pages!

I got the ebook from the site, as you also get a free MP3, yesterday. I'm just devouring the book. It's a very easy read.

There was a story about Mr. Pink speaking to a smart kid who wasn't doing well in school. I used the technique yesterday with my daughter. She's doing well, getting all A's, but she has seemed quite sad and getting worse the last 2 weeks. So, after reading that chapter, I asked her why she was so sad.

I think it's because of her teacher. Her new teacher seems to be a bit on the lazy side (like not giving them their spelling test because she couldn't get to it; not taking them to recess because she was tired -- I'm so sure!). Her 1st grade teacher was not. I perceived Angie wasn't being challenged. So I asked her if she would like to do her stories again, Hector and I will invest money in collecting her stories during the year with her illustrations and have a book made. She immediately perked up and said: I want the cover hard! LOL A girl after my own heart. Knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask me!

The simple technique of engaging my daughter has now awakened the writer and artist within her again. She's back to her perky self. That was worth at least 100 times what I paid for this book.
