PreSchool-Grade 1. Sixty-four ideas, organized into 10 categories ranging from solitary activities ("Cozy Corner Play") to games requiring several people. Also included are: outdoor fun; art; "Giggles and Wiggles"; things made from foodstuffs; "All About Me"; "Colors and Shapes"; counting; and simple science activities. The format is inviting; each activity is presented on a double-page spread, illustrated with large line drawings of racially varied children. Each starts with a list, "Here's What You Need," and goes on to "Here's What You Do." Additional related activities or questions to ponder are under the heading, "Let it Pour!" while relevant facts are headed "Lightning Bolt!" The text is addressed directly to children, but a lot of the directions start with "Ask a grown-up to...." Since the introduction describes the activities as being for preschoolers, the book's real readers will probably be adults, who may get a little tired of the tone of breathless wonder and the constant exclamation points; however, there are a lot of good ideas here to keep children busy. Any adult faced with a bored child or, worse yet, a whole roomful of them, will find this book a lifesaver. We have many of the Little Hands books and all of them have fun ideas geared for preschoolers. I love how this is geared for rainy days! There are ten categories to choose from ranging from arts and crafts to simple science experiments. Like all Little Hands books, the instructions are short and easy to understand and there are discussion starters and facts to go with each activity.

I love these books, I have about 10 of them (maybe more, lol). I use them for homeschooling and for just fun ideas. I usually end up changing around the ideas a little to work for both my 5 year old and 2 year old. I would recomend every one of their books (check out all the books my Williamson Publishing).
