This is a well written, easy to read book. New puppy owners will refer back to it often. One of the more current and progressive books out there for puppies with a practical approach. I recommend to all of my new puppy families.

Silly training approach,

This is a book that states outright that you should not discipline a dog. If you correct behavior, no matter how gently, these authors say, your puppy will be be terrified of you. If you are training a tiny dog or an incredibly mellow breed, you may be able to take a gamble and try this approach. But for large breeds, refusing to say "no," or "off," can easily lead to major problems. If you only tell your dog when it is being good, how does it know not to jump up or nip you? It doesn't make sense.
Many of the people who adopt these theories are trainers. Of course, the more you need a qualified trainer to come in and help when this method doesn't work, the more money for them! At just over 100 pages, filled with advertisements for various products (some are actually made by the company owned by the authors!), this book is not worth even close to $16.
