All Facets of Intuitive Children Addressed in One Book - Refreshing and Encouraging,
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
Are you, or is your child a physically gifted intuitive, a creative-inspired intuitive, an empathic intuitive, a psychic intuitive or a spiritual intuitive? Reading Raising Intuitive Children will tell you. The book is like a reflection of the insides of the children and adults who are living in the world today, discovering their gift of intuitive intelligence.
If you are a teacher, parent or caretaker of a creative inspired artist, an empathic feeler, a spiritual psychic, or a physically gifted child, this book will help you understand in concrete terms how intuition plays an important role in the development of these children. The book also offers effective suggestions to get parents feeling confident - not only about parenting their children, but about exploring their own intuitive natures. With chapter titles like, Parenting Styles and the Intuitive Child, The Power of Optimistic Emotion and Empowerment and Intuition, I found it hard to put the book down. As I was reading, I could quickly see that this book will be as valuable to teachers as it already is to parents. Further, I believe it is uniquely affirming to the intuitive adult who grew up before the term intuitive intelligence ever existed. As I read, I noted tips on protecting the intuitive development of children, such as limiting TV viewing and time spent on computer or playing electronic games; scheduling time for imaginative play (just as you would schedule music lessons, swimming, dance or sports); allowing children to bask in the peace of "doing nothing" or "just being" at times; and setting up rituals. As a coach for sensitive, empathic people, I found the section on Emotional Support for Empathic Intuitives to be very helpful, validating, enjoyable and thorough. Some of the valuable statements from this section were as follows: "All children want to be understood and respected for their feelings, but empathic children specifically need to be validated so they can focus and release. Otherwise avoided or suppressed emotions become stored in the body, causing more stress." "Intuitive children with sensitivities are easily overwhelmed by environmental overload. The overload can be loud sounds, lights, emotional discord, mental overload, or intuitive bombardment...(They) have faster reflexes, are more affected by pain, medications and stimulants, have a more reactive immune system and more allergies." "Children from emotionally toxic environments who are conditioned to fail can feel it to be a life sentence. A safe environment in which a loving adult meets their needs is mandatory for the building of self-confidence and security." "Purposeful, empathic touch to regulate and support and intuitive child's physiology tells the nervous system to be resilient and calm...Through empathic touch, you teach an intuitive child to trust his sense of feeling and his body's messages. By pairing touch with empathy you teach the child to calm himself." "To support an emotional empath, strengthen emotional energy... and empower resilience so they can interact with the environment, not withdraw from it." "A mentor, whether a parent, sibling, neighbor, or schoolteacher can help sensitive children negotiate adversity by talking about it." This book allows each of us to recognize the foundations of intuition as they express themselves in each individual child, while also offering valuable practical solutions. You will likely find your child meeting different characteristics described in this book as your child grows. I highly recommend keeping this book as a reference and using it as a tool to introduce other parents to the topic as they begin to recognize intuitive intelligence in the children around them. Review of Raising Intuitive children,
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
I'm the author of a book regarding the children that this book discusses: "Profound Healing for Indigo Children & Youth...and Other Sensitive Souls". Based on my experience working with these children and their families, I strongly recommend this book to readers. It covers not only raising thse gifted children to make better use of their intuition, but it also covers such areas as education, parenting issues such as setting boundaries and emotional support, as well as protection from environmental toxins, among other issues. It provides a variety of exercises to assist these children to make better use of their intuition and to accomplish what they set out to based on what their knowingness. This book is also beautifully laid out. I believe that readers will greatly value this book to assist their children to become all they can be.

Raising Intuitive Children - A perfect handbook for our children.,
By
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
Dr. Caron Goode and Tara Paterson have nailed important issues with today's children. They show parents how to understand their child's individuality and touch on theories similar to Multiple Intelligences and Myers-Briggs. Highly intuitive children thrive when parents have a deeper understanding of their brilliance. Children have many ways of showing their intuitive skills, and parenting styles bring those skills out in different ways. The book provides ways to keep each child individual and flourishing.
Raising Intuitive Children addresses specific steps for our intuitive children, including the food we feed them, and the environment we live in. This book provides excellent tips to honor the child, while still being authentic in life. Though our children may be spiritual or highly intuitive, it is useful to have a guide to help them to live in the real world. This book helps us parents to empower our gifted children, giving them skills to cope and to flourish in the world. It is a guidebook for the new age. Straightforward and valuable. Parenting Book Reveals Importance of Full Spectrum of Human Intelligence,
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
I highly recommend Raising Intuitive Children as a must read for anyone who not only wants to understand intuition in themselves and their children, but who believes that nourishing the wholeness of who we are nourishes the whole world.
Thank goodness there is finally a comprehensive guidebook for recognizing and cultivating the special gifts of intuitive children that also understands the enormous social and cultural significance of parenting the whole child! In Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts, psychotherapist Caron Goode and parenting expert/coach Tara Paterson have pooled their impressive professional and personal experience to provide parents with practical and meaningful tools for raising children with intuitive intelligence. In a world that has long viewed heightened sensitivity, psychic perception, and spiritual awareness as either odd, a curse, or worse yet, a mental aberration, Goode and Paterson tap into a growing movement to understand and accept intuition as a natural and empowering part of the spectrum of human intelligence. Having been through the difficulties of being raised by a reluctant intuitive, coming to my own intuition later in life, and pondering the best way to raise my own insightful child, I was thrilled to discover that Raising Intuitive Children helped me make sense of my own experiences. The book opened the door to my understanding that the fullness of human potential can be realized in meaningful parent-child interactions, and that these interactions contribute to a more aware collective consciousness. I urge all parents to read Raising Intuitive Children. It will become a well-worn reference as the kids grow! [...].

This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
I am a parent of a highly sensitive, intuitive son. This book has helped me understand what is really going on with my child and how to assist him. Before reading this book I was confused, frustrated, and felt alone on this journey. This book not only gave me information, but specific guidance on how to parent my son. I teach parenting classes in the community and have found this book to go above and beyond that information and truly help me understand how to respond and interact with my son in an effective way. I highly recommend this book to parents seeking answers on how to help their children even when they feel helpless themselves!

Knowing Our Intuitive Children,
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
I am a mother to a empathic intuitive. I met my daughter in my dreams before she was born. She and I are very connected and we both are highly intuitive. Because I am just as sensitive as my daughter we struggled a little with her emotions when she was 3, 4, 5 years of age. I felt at lost at how to interact with her during her most sensitive moments. Because I am involved in dreamwork and alternative healing modalities, I knew where to begin searching when needing to find guidance in dealing with the emotional ups and downs of my daughter. I came across Dr. Goode's book and was thrilled to begin putting things into perspective. I have worked with other moms and their children, but I found it difficult to work through understanding my own daughter's sensitivities and emotions. I was too close to her, when she felt something I felt something and vice versa. Her mood depended on my mood, it was very difficult to breathe sometimes with out my daughter knowing my thoughts and feelings. Raising Intuitive Children gave me that "I need to call mom and ask advice help", I so desperately needed. I was raised with out any guidance or mentoring for my intuitive gifts, besides friends I don't have a mother to turn to for advice. So when I find a book that can give me guidance I am so elated! My daughter is 7 years old now, and the past couple of years I have referred back to Dr. Good's book when needing guidance or a reminder about interacting with my empathic intuitive daughter. And it works. How I interact, how I act and react to my daughter creates the atmosphere for the next few hours (or rest of the day). I no longer feel like I need to walk on egg shells, as I once felt.
I highly recommend this book! The children of today are more evolved, more spiritual, more aware and tapped into a higher vibrational frequency. Times have changed! There is not one way of parenting, or one type of child. We need to understand who our children are in order to guide them down the right path. And in return the children of today will add an abundance of love & light in our lives.

A Book That Is Due Its Time!,
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
Raising Intuitive Children is a beautiful book that opens the lines of communication between parent and child in a way that is so critical to the whole development of not just the child but the entire family. Finally, a book that brings support and encouragement for these intuitive children to be heard, recognized and developed so they can proudly embrace who they are at their soul level and make an impact on the world in a magnificent way. Thank you Tara and Caron!

Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts
"Did I do that right? Am I over protective? Am I projecting my own insecurities? Was I open enough to foster a healthy sense of adventure?" In cultivating a child's most instinctive ability (to intuit), Caron B. Goode, PhD prescribes a more open-ended, organic style of parenting. And there is so much more to be said for what parenting becomes as a wholistic experience when we do. Too often we focus on our parental duty, carrying a burden that lasts a lifetime through constant self-judgement and second-guessing before, during, and after the fact. Also, In "Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts," Caron B. Goode, PhD suggests that adults who utilize their children's intuitive wisdom in parenting, may very well rediscover that, which went untapped in their own childhood while becoming better parents. A Win-win outcome!

A Treasure Trove of Practical Information for Parents - Athena A. Drewes, PsyD,
By
This review is from: Raising Intuitive Children: Guide Your Children to Know and Trust Their Gifts (Paperback)
"Raising Intuitive Children" is a treasure trove of practical information for parents raising children who have intuitive abilities. Now more than ever, it is important for parents to offer an open and caring environment that will help nurture their child's intuition and creative abilities. So often children find they have no one to turn to in order to discuss their experiences and consequently feel different and alienated from peers and others. This volume offers parents ways to help their child to trust their natural instincts and higher intuitive abilities. It is important that they know they have a receptive parent to whom they can express their feelings and experiences without being negatively labeled or rejected.
Goode and Paterson break down the book into helpful chapters that offer a holistic approach to raising intuitive children. At the end of each chapter there is a helpful review that highlights critical points to remember. This easy to read book first explains what intuitive abilities are, some of the research to date, along with a firm understanding of how intuitive experiences impact on body, mind and spirit. They then move on to cover the different ways intuitive children may react and learn, and the conditions best suited to their growing needs. Later additional chapters focus on the impact that environment, diet, and food additives can significantly impact on their child's sensitivities. A gem of a chapter focuses specifically on helping parents understand the best parenting style to use with intuitive children. It becomes a much needed `how to' section, since intuitive children may not always be a perfect match with their parents' own personality and parenting style. Even in the best of families, goodness of fit does not occur with each child, resulting in temperament differences which can consequently erupt into power struggles and emotional conflicts. Goode and Paterson deftly guide parents and caregivers toward a more harmonious relationship. There are several chapters that focus on the various developmental stages and issues to consider with children, as well as tweens and teens. Having the book span all the developmental levels makes it a much needed and useful book to hold onto as one's child grows up. The authors also include comprehensive chapters that address ways to nurture the creative spirit, how to offer emotional support especially for children who are extremely empathic to others and their environment and the need for fostering a spiritual foundation and connection. They end the book with chapters that focus on psychic talents, empowerment and mental intuition, along with helping intuitive children learn how to effectively shift states, focus and connect to their environment and others. All in all, this book is jam-packed with a wealth of information. Parents and caregivers of intuitive child will find this book to be a most helpful resource that they will go back to time and time again. |
