More than a fill-in-the-blank Bible study, Raising Maidens of Virtue is an engaging tool for mothers to use in training daughters who are approaching womanhood to think biblically. Through stories, allegories, illustrations, and memory-making projects, Raising Maidens of Virtue covers topics such as guarding the tongue, idleness, sibling relationships, honoring parents, contentment, modesty, purity, cleanliness, and feminine biblical beauty.

More About the Author

I am the wife of Pastor James McDonald of Providence Church in Morton, Illinois. We have ten beautiful children who love and serve the Lord. Our goal as a family is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

We hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith and attend a Presbyterian church that is part of the Covenant Presbyterian Church www.covenant-presbyterian.org

Statistics present a shocking truth - the Christian family today is in trouble. Our prayer is that the Lord will bring a new revival to the family, a true God-powered family reformation! We have seen God's grace and power in our own lives. As the Christian family begins to live in accordance to the Word of God, change happens! Experiencing victory in the Christian family comes when living faith becomes living action. This is family reformation (1 John 5:3-4; John 14:21)!

Over the years, I have found that any Christian who truly lives out what he believes and attempts to teach others the timeless truths of Scripture will face opposition and even persecution. This is actually promised in Scripture (2 Timothy 3:12), so it's not surprising that some bristle at this message.

It has always been a primary task of Christian parenthood that fathers and mothers raise their daughters to grow up exhibiting such moral values and personal behaviors as modesty, purity, cleanliness, compassion, industriousness, courtesy, guarded of speech, peaceable with their siblings, honoring their parents, and keeping faith with their God. These are all attributes ascribed to biblically based standards of feminine beauty both in appearance and in conduct. In Raising Maidens Of Virtue: A Study Of Feminine Loveliness For Mothers And Daughters, wife and homeschooling mother of nine uses stories, conversational teachings, illustrations, and memory-making projects to aid mothers in teaching their daughters on how to best comport themselves as Christian women and to deal with the inevitable decisions that will confront those daughters with respect to family life, peer relations, courtship, marriage, and all other aspects of womanhood in the world today. Raising Maidens Of Virtue is strongly recommended reading for parents wanting only the best for their daughters and seeking to help their daughters to want only the best for themselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Life-Changing Book! March 2, 2005
Format:Hardcover
My daughters and I used Mrs. McDonald's book as a devotional by reading one chapter a day. Her words were thought-provoking and so scripturally inspired that we would spend many hours in wonderful discussion afterwards. It was a great tool to open up the communication between my daughters and I about what it truly means to be a Godly woman and how to withstand the pressures put on women in today's culture. I have seen tremendous changes in my daughters as a result of studying this book with them. Truly a GREAT book!

I recently enjoyed reading Stacy McDonald's new book. I am a Christian homeschooling mom looking to encourage my young daughter to put aside the ways of the world and to take on the character of a godly woman.

This study definitely suits that purpose.

Although my daughter is still a bit young to do the study together, I personally benefitted from the instruction and encouragement woven through the pages of the book. The day will come soon when my young maiden and I can enjoy it together.

For those truly seeking to be women who are in the world but not of it, you should find this study very profitable.
