Zig Ziglar is a truly remarkable person. In this book he takes a detour from his usual business topics and talks about raising children. He presents his "old school" ideas which might seem a bit too conservative to some "modern" parents. Especially if talking about faith in God or pre-marriage sex. But it is his firm belief in traditional values that makes this book convincing. Ziglar also does not pretend that he, as a father, was doing everything right. He lets his children speak at the end of the book and they have some critical remarks indeed. I really recommend this book to everyone who wants to become a better parent and I also recommend to combine it with another book by Zig Ziglar, his bestseller See You At The Top.

Zig really penned some of his best... This book is full of wisdom from his experience and his faith.

What I found most profound was at the end of the book where he writes the answers to a question he posed to his own children: what did we do right and what did we do wrong as parents.

Absolutely honest and extremely informative.

I read this book when I was going-through a divorce. The tips and techniques, along with Zig's philosophies, have helped me raise two wonderful, happy, children. Thank You, Zig!

I ran across this book in the Library and started reading it just because it was a a Zig Ziglar. Having completed the book I am looking to purchase a copy for MY library. Usefull from page 1 the Epilogue on page 245 is the reassurance that we should not lament over the past but focus on the future. This book is chock full of practical immediately applicable insights.

Ziglar relates time-tested, practical, common sense parenting advice in a way only he can. Every parent should read this book and then share it with every other parent they know. It's even more fun to listen to in audio format! I've listened to hundreds of hours of Ziglar teachings, and I still learn from him every time.

We definitely try to be as positive as possible w/ our kids. This doesn't mean that we should turn a blind eye to lot of the negative influences in society today. This book is a great read for just about everyone that deals w/ kids and for kids themselves.

I was given this book when I was carrying my now 20 year old son. 3 kids later, I still consider this book a bible. I give it to any friend that is becoming a parent. My kids are the most awesome kids you will ever meet. They are sweet, positive, caring, hard workers,etc (Man, I sound like a mom!). I really get compliments of a great job done when someone meets my boys.
Buy and read it. Things will click!

This book has been a tremendous encouragement and help to me as a parent. There are so many books out there on parenting and at times the advice contradicts and confuses. Reading this book has taken me back to the basics. I was reminded of what an awesome responsibility and privilege I have being a parent! I can strongly recommend this book to any parent!

I picked up this book as I was researching parenting techniques, and looking for ways I could raise my own 4 kids to be kids of character in this chaotic world we live in. I found a ton of great ideas, and wonderful real life applications in Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World! Zig has not only done his parenting research, but has LIVED it! He speaks from his heart, and shares his own life experiences as a dad in an easy to read format that will hopefully, give families across the country guidance and hope as they parent their own kids. My whole family loved every minute of these tapes. We found them very helpful and motivating. Zig Ziglar can tell wonderful stories and make you laugh out loud. I listen to these tapes over and over and I think I am a better parent because of it.
