Bought it for my 16 year old son who Captain's his Varsity Volleyball Team as a High School Junior. He says it "re-established" his concept of sports and the joy of playing versus only the competitive aspect. My son is a SHARP kid, if he said what he did, take it to heart! He was intensely driven and lost some of the joy of sports. It helped him immensely as a player and Captain.

Well-written book! My kids are now 23 and 21 but I wish I had this book to read when they were first starting to participate in organized sports. I really feel it is a helpful book for parents. I also enjoyed reading the anecdotes from all of the athletes. I found their insight informative.

As a teacher and parent I would recommend this book for any parent who has a child active in sports. The stories are interesting and pertinent as they are told by professional athletes. I especially enjoyed the psychological take on what children need to succeed in sports.
