If you tend toward bitters, you'll love this drink,

My wife and I both love this drink - makes for a delicious cuppa.
We prefer the bulk form rather than the tea bags, and make it using a French Press, letting it steep. We also like something called Dandy Blend, made from dandelion roots. This drink is more popular in the UK and New Zealand. We don't use them as coffee substitutes, and certainly enjoy a nice cup of joe now and again - we just like the drink for its own merits. Plus, Raja's Cup more accurately acts like a strong tea than a coffee. We both don't have much of a sweet tooth however, and tend to favor flavors in the medium to bitter range. Not to say that this is a bitter drink, just to say it's defintely more in the bitter range. If you really like the sweet range, or are definitely seeking a coffee substitute, this may not be for you. If you're looking for something that's more in the direction of a coffee substitute, give either Inka or Cafix a try.

My husband and I used to be gourmet coffee drinkers. We bought whole beans from around the world at our local food co-op and ground them right there. It was wonderful! Then we tried one bulk can of Raja's Cup somewhere between five and eight years ago. It was love at first sip, and we haven't bought coffee beans since! We weren't looking for a coffee substitute, just wanted to try this exotic sounding substance. I think it is a mistake to market it as a replacement for coffee, because in many ways it is quite different. However, it seems to satisfy the same urge for something hot and delicious in the morning. It does not have the slam-you-wide-awake and if you drink too much jittery affect that coffee can have. Rather, it is gently stimulating. Plus, it is a super anti-oxidant. I brew a pot (drip coffee maker) in the morning, and what I don't finish then I consume throughout the rest of the day iced. When I was a coffee drinker I used half and half, but find the Raja's Cup so satisfying I drink it plain. Since you use fewer grounds per cup than coffee it is about the same price per cup, too.

Super Tea,
This review is from: Raja's Cup Bulk Pack, 8 oz., makes 170 cups (Health and Beauty)
Now I am sure what many of you are wondering what I mean by Super Tea. It's Super Tea in that it works wonders to help your immune system when you are sick. Forget Airborne, THIS is the good stuff. I can literally FEEL the difference when I take this when I am sick and when I don't. It also tastes like coffee for those who enjoy such things. If you don't like the taste you can mix in some Almond/Soy Milk or some Chocolate or something. Unfortunately Amazon no longer seems to sell this product, but you can easily find it elsewhere on the web.

It's not coffee and it doesn't taste like coffee. But I like it. I buy it loose and make it in a regular coffee maker; tastes the same in a coffee press. Then I add some milk and sweetener, same as coffee. It's very healthy, tastes somewhat bitter. I drink a cup in the evening instead of eating snacks. My husband doesn't like it. When I first tried it I thought it was weird, but it grew on me. You can add cinnamon and other flavorings, same as you would for coffee, if the bitterness bothers you.

I don't know about blind taste tests but you can tell. It taste like coffee at a 7-11 thats been there for the last two days. Neither the wife or myself finished our cups. So unless you are willing to chance wasting your money, better to pass an this product.
