Raleigh Street, November 1, 2009
This review is from: The Raleigh Street Saga: Shattering the Legend (Paperback)
I was born in Duluth in the early 50's and grew up in West Duluth.
I knew many of the people who were interviewed and it brought back memories
of a once thriving West Duluth with many companies no longer there--such
as Diamond Tool. USteel, Cement Plant as well as several auto dealerships
and smaller faily owned businesses-such as the bakeries and grocers located
on Central and Grand Avenues as well as Raleigh Street.
Despite the fact that there are no longer heavy industry in West Duluth, it is still a great place and in several years, upon retirement, may return to West
Duluth. Book was really informative!!!
