Product Description
The 260 is the latest and largest addition to the RALI line, and offers unique advantages along with the longest bed (260mm, or 10") of any RALI plane. If you prefer the feel of a conventional plane together with the unique benefits of RALI design and quality, the 260 is your answer! With its extra length and weight, this smoothing plane eagerly welcomes its tasks, and leaves you with perfect results! Offering a design more similar to common planes, the 260 is also the only RALI to incorporate acceptance of a resharpenable blade as well as RALI's unique reversible and replaceable blades: the plane is supplied with one blade of each type. Replacement blades are the same 48 mm size used in the 220 and 105 models.

I own LN, Stanley, Knight toolworks, and Bridge City Tools. None compare to the ease and value of this tool. Works immediately out of the box. Shavings as light and feathery as you could want. I've never taken a micrometer to measure thickness of shavings, but let me put it this way -- I can read the newspaper through them! (Maple shavings, that is.) I like this version better than the 220 with its horn shaped totes; seems to have a lower center of gravity, but I guess that's just a personal preference. This plane is rugged and non-fussy. Really. It is so easy to set up and use, you can get to work right away, little to no down time sharpening and tuning. Dropped on the floor? No problem. Doesn't even phase it. Can't say enough good about this plane.
