From School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-Two adequate series biographies. Probosz depends upon secondary source materials, but gives a solid impression of Graham's youth and early influences upon her art. The rest of the book merely relates the high points of her career and is supplementary material to other recently published biographies, such as Trudy Garfunkel's Letter to the World (Little, 1995). Reef fills a void as there is scant material available on the civil rights leader for this age group. She offers a ``just the facts, ma'm'' approach by relating the events in Abernathy's life in dry serviceable prose. Both books are adequately illustrated with black-and-white photos and will be helpful for reports.-Kay McPherson, Central Atlanta-Fulton Public Library, GA
