This review is from: Ralph's Secret Weapon (Paperback)
As one of the lesser known instruments of the orchestra, the bassoon is often overlooked in children's books. What a delight it was for me, as a general music teacher, to find a well written, funny book highlighting this instrument! This is a favorite of students! They love the adventure Ralph has when he goes to vacation with his aunt. She is super at encouraging Ralph to continue studying by accentuating the positive aspect of his practice time. As a result of Ralph and his aunt working together, they "save the day" by conquering a monster.

Bassoon book,

This review is from: Ralph's Secret Weapon (Hardcover)
This book is very cute and funny. The pictures are hilarious and add a lot to the story. As a bassoonist,I think the best thing about this book is that Ralph plays the bassoon. Just try to find another picture book with a bassoon in it!
