Alpha Video's Volume 4 of Ramar is beset by the same problems that plagued Volume 3 in the series, i.e., the visual quality is not up to the standards of Volumes 1 & 2. To their credit, Alpha knows that there's a niche market for Ramar and, consequently, is trying to meet collector demand by releasing as many episodes as possible, but the company's source material is of variable quality. Volumes 1 & 2, set in Africa, were of reasonably good quality, but Volumes 3 & 4, set in India, have not been as good. The episode "The Tiger's Claw" that's included on this disc is the poorest quality episode of the 16 episodes that Alpha has released as of this writing. Despite the lesser visual quality of this disc, the episodes ARE watchable and, most importantly, enjoyable. I particularly like Victor Millan as "Zahir," Dr. Reynolds and Professor Ogden's native guide. Veteran character actor Harry Lauter appears in "The Forbidden Village." Lauter was one of those actors whose name you might not know, but his face is instantly recognizable as he appeared in countless television shows in the 1950s and 1960s.

The episodes included in this volume are:

The Tiger's Claw
The Devil Soul
Urn of Destiny
The Forbidden Village

Like Volume 3, my rating for Volume 4 is closer to **1/2 stars, due to the lesser visual quality of the episodes. Ramar collectors will want this disc, but casual fans should stick to Volumes 1 & 2.
