My 4 year old picked out this toy...I never expected it to be such a nightmare!!! It must have been designed by people who either do not have kids, a brain or a house they don't want covered in water (or all of the above). The "wash" part is so shallow it floods all over and the majority of the toy is useless. My son pretty much lost interest in the main toy (thank you God) for the most part and just plays with the cars in the bath tub (I give him a bowl of cold water), but the paint is quickly chipping away on the cars. What a waste of money!

I bought this for my 3 year-old for her birthday. It is a lot of fun for her...the only downfall is that it is a VERY WET toy! Be sure to either play with it outside, in a tub, or put down many towels. When she takes the car from the warm water into the cold water, the water just drips all over the place. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5...otherwise it is very neat to watch the cars paint jobs change from cold to warm water! She wants to play with it ALL of the time!

Yes to what all the other reviews said, it is a very very wet toy, but on a hot summer day outside, they love it. But the little squeeze bottle broke after 1 day, and the elevator broke the net day...so now they dip the cars in hot and cold bowls of water and put them down the slide themselves. My kids do play with this a lot, but it would be great if it was designed better and was more durable.

My 6 year old son just picked up this toy in Walmart for $20. Let me put it this way - i am on amazon for the color changing toy car because the whole station is pretty much useless, messy and uncomfortable to play with. Right now my son has a bowl with the icy water and i run to the bathroom to fill in the smaller container from the station. As soon as we get the car, the whole set goes back to the store. My advise, if you are looking for the fun with cars changing the colors, buy the car only to avoid all this process of assembling, disassembling and returning the whole set.

Despite my better judgment, I finally gave in after a year and purchased this toy for my son. The one positive is that he seems to enjoy the toy. However, this toy simply doesn't work the way it's supposed to. The squirt bottle, which is supposed to hang above the garage area and have the child squirt the cars to change their colors, leaks constantly, which means you have to refill the bottle every three minutes. After about three tries, my son gave up and pulled the squirt bottle out and just squirted the cars directly. My suggestion? Get the color changing Cars vehicles and find other ways for your child to use water to change the colors, perhaps a water gun or a spray bottle. Don't waste your money on this product.

Junk. Or maybe I should say the concept is faulty. The structure is sturdier than a lot of car toys. But the cars don't change color.

My son received this for his birthday. Upon opening the box you will find that there is a great deal of assembly required for the Body Shop. After assembling the numerous pieces, you will find that there was little point to assembling the shop because the design is terrible! The ramp is placed right in front of the area where you place the car to squirt it with water, blocking it from view. The ramp does not connect flush with the circular area (elevator) so when you lift it up, the car will not just slide right down ramp/slide like you would think. You have to move the car onto the ramp. Also, when you lift the elevator up, it sometimes bumps and splashes the water around.
The car itself changes color very well and is super cool, it is by far the best feature of this toy! You do need to use warm water to change it yellow and very cold water to change it red. Once proper temperatures are used, the color changes happen perfectly and is fun to do over and over. Unfortunately, changing the color over and over requires lots of water and constant changing out of water. This toy is MESSY. We first used it outside on the deck with my son in swim shorts because water gets everywhere! However, I got really tired of continuously going inside to get more ice cold water (We live in Texas and with it being 100 degrees outside, cold water doesn't stay cold long)! You get about 3 color changes with the little squirter used for the cold water. The warmer water in the splash slide lasts a little longer. We decided to play with this on the kitchen floor to have access to cold and warm water. However, all the water you are using has to go somewhere! So we stack about 3 beach towels on the floor to catch the water. We don't use the elevator to change the color because it is difficult to see the change behind where the ramp is. We just pull out and use the little pool that sits under the elevator to catch the cold water and the ramp to splash into the warm water. So for use, the Body Shop part is completely useless. Another flaw is the size of the hold in the little squirter. You need ice cold water but the opening is entirely too small to fit a piece of ice. You have to crush the ice in a cup and pour it and very cold water into the squirter to make it change the color properly. So, other than the very cool color changing car, this playset is a total pass. Save your money and just get color change cars, some bowls or deep plates, fashion a ramp out of something from your kids toy box and you would have just as much fun for a fraction of the price.

My 4 year old son looooves this toy but it gets the entire play area wet. We have a small water table and it works just fine there. Even the small container to hold the cold water leaks and when squeezed, shoots out water quite far. We are having fun with it but I WOULD NOT buy this as a birthday gift. The birthday boy or girl would probably love it but I'm guessing that the parents would not.

My 5 year old got this for his birthday and well, we're a bit disappointed by it. It is a very wet toy indeed (kids will need to play with it outside or use towels if played indoors!) I don't think the toy was well designed at all - or at least the elevator part of it: it doesn't work very well. When you lift it up the car doesn't get on the slide by itself because the elevator and the slide aren't leveled. Here's how my boys ended up playing with it: they just use the car, a bowl of warm water and a bowl of iced water. They have just as much fun. I regret I wasted my money on this product.

My son LOVES this toy!,
This review is from: Cars Ramone's House of Body Art Color Shifters Playset (Toy)
Yes, it is wet, but what do you expect when you buy a toy that is advertised to change colors when wet? We put a towel under it on the kitchen floor and go. There were a lot of pieces, but they were easy to put together. I thought it would be a pain because it says that icy water works best, but we found that the coldest water we could get from the tap worked fine. My son keeps saying it is the best toy ever! It is cheap in its construction, some of the plastic was a little warped and the elevator doesn't go up as high as the top of the slide, so the car won't really drive out and down. I'm not sure why it says it has hot and cold dunk tanks, as it only has one hot dunk tank and a squirt bottle for the cold water. The car does change colors impressively, and both my 2 and 4 year old love it, which is the most important thing! My 4 year old also likes to experiment with the car to find out what else will make it change colors, so I have to say it's a pretty good learning toy in that respect. |
