Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

In Rampage , Scott proposes that one man, albeit a very smart, rich, and creative one, can topple the entire organized crime network in New York City. Mike Taglione is murdered by a Mafia member after a minor falling out. One of his sons, Christopher Taggart (born Taglione), vows to avenge his father's murder, and he doesn't care whom he has to exploit to do so. The other son, Tony Taglione, a driven, incorruptible district attorney, is almost torn apart by his brother's amorality. Scott, author of six other books including The Shipkiller, has created realistic characters, dialogue, and settings, and an exciting plot that explores in detail the emotional and legal consequences of revenge and vigilanteism. Rampage is an unusual Mafia novel in that it is almost devoid of graphic violence and sex. Very well done. Literary Guild main selection. Jean B. Palmer, formerly with Phillips Acad. Lib., Andover, Mass.

Justin Scott's rampage is an excellent book. For all of you out there who love mafia stories - this is the book. It follows the stories of two brothers who take different paths to bring down the mafia for revenge. It is full of suspense and Scott really makes the characters come to life. I love mafia films but don't read crime books but this one I couldn't put down. I found it hard to break away from it. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book keeps me looking for more titles by John Scott., April 17, 1999

Two brothers taking totally different tracks to gain vengence. The characters become very real. Scott weaves a detailed and interesting story. I DO NOT read crime books, but this is worth the time and effort, one of the few books I will read more than once.
