Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Rampage Puzzle Attack is a fast-moving puzzle game that features more than five gameplay modes, password saving, and link cable support for two players on a single cartridge. Players maneuver a cursor on a sliding horizontal line of blocks, flipping the position of two colored blocks to create links of the same color. If you're good, you can create chains as the pile settles into the bin. In clear mode, you try to clear more than 50 levels of color blocks. Rescue mode gives players the opportunity to rescue fellow monsters from their cages before they are crushed. Completing this mode unlocks all the monsters for play in other modes. In puzzle mode, you have to clear all the color blocks on the playing field with a limited number of drops.

Product Description

The RAMPAGE series takes a puzzling turn in this dazzling installment of the time-honored monster franchise. Classic beasts like George, Lizzie, and Ralph are along for all of the excitement, although there's none of the building-smashing action that RAMPAGE fans have grown accustomed to here. Much like TETRIS, the object of RAMPAGE PUZZLE ATTACK is to arrange a bunch of colored blocks as they fall from the sky. You'll be able to adjust the blocks by rotating them, and the hope is to create solid lines of like-colored blocks thus, causing those lines to disappear. The pieces begin to fall faster and faster as the gameplay progresses, so make sure you bring your reflexes and your thinking cap for this experience! Several modes of play keep the replay value high, and you can even save your progress with a password. Play alone or use a link cable to challenge a friend to a head-to-head match-up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Puzzles not your thing? Try the game anyway!, March 4, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Rampage Puzzle Attack (Video Game)
I am an extreme gaming fanatic, but usually puzzle games aren't my thing. I still decided to try RAMPAGE... and LOVED it! The concept is very, very easy, and it is easy to get good at.

The game is somewhat like tetris, but instead of fitting pieces together in a row, you must match the same color of blocks, and erase them by using special blocks called "detoblocks"

The best part of the game is a mode called : "puzzle mode." In puzzle mode, one gets a fixed amount of turns to eliminate ALL blocks.

Overall, this is an addictive game with better graphics than most puzzlers. My one and only complaint is that one must use a password save; it is very annoying (especially in this game) because every level (which I may add are very short)has a new password.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like puzzles, you will like this, December 15, 2001

If you like doing puzzles, you will like this. Its puzzles are more intricate than Tetris and success depends on thought rather than speed. There are bunches of levels and four different modes and the password option allows you to skip levels at which you have already succeeded. Its a very fun game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Password is Annoying!, July 5, 2003
This review is from: Rampage Puzzle Attack (Video Game)
This is a great puzzle game and would be well worth 5 stars if this game didn't have passwords for each level. This is a GBA game, shouldn't we be pass the password stage? I have just finished level 4 and in the beginning I thought this game would be easy. Boy was I wrong. Around level 4 things begin to pick up and the game becomes more the puzzle game I was expecting. The best way to compare this game is to Tetris 2 because of the matching colors and the stars, but really I haven't met any comparison to this game.
The really neat thing about this game is of course the monsters. They climb up and down the puzzle grid which can be really cool and the noises they make are great. As the game goes along you pick up more monsters to pick from and they all have their different quirks as they go up and down the puzzle grid. For those who are fans of puzzles, keep playing the game and it will become addictive. Just realize, passwords are annoying but it can be fun just to watch the different monsters and their different antics, especially on the rescue stage, which is a lot of fun just to watch the monsters.
If you hate passwords, though, stay away from this game because as I said, GBA and still have passwords. I don't think so. If passwords don't bother you, then this is a great puzzle game.
