I played this game while I was babysitting at a friends house. I played for about half an hour. By then I'd had enough. You'll like this game if you want to destroy stuff and eat people over aand over and over again. All you do is start the game, choose your monster, and start destroying. You do the same thing every time. You walk around and punch a building holes form...

In each level you have a number of buildings to destroy while being shot at by army troops. The graphics and animation in this game are trully eye pleasing, nothing like the old arcade's 16 color scheme. And if you get bored of destroying buildings, take it out on one of your partners, punch them, kick them in the groin, or a jump kick to the jaw. Its just plain fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rampage is finally back, November 18, 2000

"Rampage World Tour" is the sequel to the smash arcade hit and Nintendo hit, Rampage. A lot of people, including myself, have waited for years for this game to come out after growing up with the original for many years. Like the original, it's a good game. It has great graphics that are a lot more detailed, perfect control, and it's fun. The effects are a lot better in this one and you'll see that when you destroy the buildings or a helicopter and see the explosions. George the gorilla and Lizzy the lizard return in this sequel, and there's also a new character, Ralph the mouse. To make destroying the buildings easier, you can now stomp on top of them instead of just punching at them like a punchbag the whole time.

The only downfall to "Rampage World Tour" is that it can get a little repetitive after so many cities and that it's a breeze for anyone to beat the game because you can continue as many times as you want and you only have to destroy all the buildings in each level to go to the next city. However, if you liked the original Rampage, that shouldn't bother you that much. There are also some cool bonus levels in this game that are a lot different and better than the original's.

If you liked the original Rampage game for the regular Nintendo or if you liked playing it in the arcades, and if you like games where you destroy cars and helicopters, eat people, and do total carnage to cities, I would recommend getting "Rampage World Tour."

You do the same thing every time. You walk around and punch a building holes form on it and you grad the stuff and eat it. Or, you can punch airplanes or cars. In conclusion, i found this game boring. This game would be good in an arcade for 25 cents for about 15 minutes. done.

Rampage World Tour takes the classic Rampage series into 64 bit form and they did a good job of doing it. The graphics and effects in the game are superb, while the control, sound, and fun factor is also good. However, like all the Rampage games, it might get boring after you go through so many cities because it's just the same old formula over and over. But if you get bored just destroying buildings, helicopters and eating people, you can always fight your friend.

If you like destroying stuff or if you're a loyal fan to the Rampage series, this would be a good game to get.

If you are going to play this game with friends often, it is a fun one to have. You get to run around and break things (as well as put a beat down on the other guy). As a one player game, though, it gets old fast. Graphics aren't bad, and sound is mediocre. The 4 star rating is for if you plan to play with friends. By yourself, I would give it about 3.

As much as I want to be able to like this game, I just can't. The original idea is still a good one (control one of three gorillas and level one city after another), but I think it's finally been exhausted. When I frist started playing this game (with a friend), I was having fun. But as the levels progressed the experiance soon became mind-numbing. I know that the game is just supposed to be a fun excursion but it could at least demonstrate some kind of variety within the levels. Each time you play a level the whole experiance becomes more boring. I began to dread having 80 or so cities left to destroy. Also, the multiplayer could have been improved. The only difference between it and single player is that you now have two or three people destroying building, and they have the ability to punch each other. I really expect better of Midway, which is usually a company that puts out good games, and I still can't believe that they made a sequel to this without any significant changes. Almost nothing has changed even from the original Rampage of the 80's. It's time that Midway either puts the series to bed or makes it more interesting. To wrap things up, this is a game that starts out as a very entertaining cartrige but quickly takes a turn for the worse. Rent this game...don't buy it, since you'll be tired of it before the game is due back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great arcade port; decent fun for awhile, July 20, 2011
By

Rampage World Tour did well in the arcade scene as it picks up from the first Rampage title back in the 80's and updates it for the 90s back then. Then, Midway decided to port it over to the N64 and in 1997, it was released and sold a decent number of copies. It's exactly like the arcade and it's decent fun for awhile. Then, it just gets old fast and you realize you do the same thing over and over again.

You pick one of three characters: the gorilla, the werewolf and the lizard. Your job is to just cause as much destruction and mayhem as possible on each stage you're in. The stages take place in various cities based on the real world so you'll see famous landmarks along the way. The police and military are hot on your tail so grab various health power ups to stay alive (or eat the many innocent people running around.) Eventually, you'll fight all the way to the moon where you'll defeat the mutated CEO of the company responsible for turning you into a monster. There's only one mode to play so grab 2 more friends to play along with you for even more destruction. At various points, you're allowed to save your progress and since it's a big game, it will take you awhile to see everything.

The PROS: Midway did a nice job at duplicating the arcade game so it looks, plays and feels just like you are standing in front of the cabinet. Playing by yourself is fun for awhile but it's better when 2 other players join you and you can either work together or just beat each other up. If you meet certain conditions, you'll access secret areas just like you can do in the arcade version.

The CONS: The fact that it's just like the arcade game is its biggest drawback. Even if you play with your friends, you're doing the same thing over and over again: destroy cities, eat people and rack up as much points as you can. The repetition kicks in pretty quick and just seeing it to the end will feel like a chore. It's also easy as hell since you have unlimited continues and there's no penalty for not clearing out stages in time. The stages pretty much look the same except for the major ones since they feature famous landmarks but overall, there is little variety. Midway didn't bother to put in extra content to unlock so when you beat the game, that's it. The only re-playability comes in finding the secret areas/cities tucked in somewhere in the game.

Rampage World Tour is not a bad game at all. It can be fun if you play it in chunks and it certainly is even better with other players. If you loved the arcade game and can't get enough of it, this game won't disappoint. But with no extra content and repetition sinking in after playing it for awhile, it keeps it from being better than it should be. Get this one used if you want to try it out.

Having a bad day? Do you feel like destroying the world? Now you can without creating your criminal record. Just plug "Rampage World Tour" into your Nintendo 64, choose from one of three characters: George (an ape), Lizzie (a prehistoric lizard), or Ralph (a werewolf); and have at it. You start in Peoria, Illinois and go on a world tour of destruction. If you die (turn back to a human), simply push the Start button. You actually have unlimited lives that way.

After a few "days", you will start encountering a robot that shoots bullets, and that will spit fire at you if you get up close in front of it. Don't bother getting in a slug fest with this thing. It's a distraction to keep you from completely destroying whatever city you're in. There's a bigger one as well, and while I recommend getting rid of this one, always make sure you attack it from behind (You're not going to win a boxing match with this thing.) Watch for clues and other information the game gives you before you start each "day" such as "powerball tv shows". There are three mega foods (One for each of the characters.) For George, it's a bunch of bananas, Lizzie prefers sushi, and Ralph eats steak. You'll know what I'm talking about when you play the game.

This is an awesome game. I highly recommend it.
