I own and use just about every kind and brand of air nailer for a remodeling business. This roofing nailer ranks with the brand name tools at half the price. I installed asphalt shingles for 3 days without encountering a single jam. It comes with quality plastic case and adequate instructions.

First off, the shipping was super fast. I ordered it on Sunday and got it on Thursday, from Michigan to Oklahoma. Not bad for standard ground shipping. The instructions were very easy to understand and follow. The nailer itself seems to be extremely high quality for a Chinese import. The gun has a nice paint job with the logos being stickers. (note to Ramsond, get your manufacturer to paint the logo on) After loading some nails and putting a few drops of oil into the air inlet, I set the trigger to "bump" mode and tested it out. After playing "machine gun" on a 2X4 for a while, not one misfire and all of the nails were driven at a consistent depth. Long story short, I'm sold on Ramsond. They have a line of framing nailers available on their website which I intend to buy next.

Update: Went through half a box of nails (3600) without a jam. Works perfectly.

Had a roofing job coming up so I read reviews and ordered the nailer for 2nd day delivery. Arrived on time in good shape. We got 2 squares of shingles down and the nailer shot a nail right through the feed ramp rendering the tool useless. Finished the job (27 square)with a Bostich RN46-1.
Advice - Spend the extra on a professional tool

This was the best [...] i've spent in a while. We did a large roof on the house, then my son and his in-laws did a large garage roof. No problems at all. On occasion the bump feature would double fire, but not too surprised about that.

I was hesitant to buy this at first since this is not a well-known brand like Dewalt. But with good reviews online for other Ramsond products, and a price below even well-used older nailers on Craigslist, it was worth a try.

I have now completed an entire roof installation using this nailgun. It works perfectly - no jams, no misfires, easy loading, feels great in the hand, and perhaps even a bit quieter than the other roofing guns I have used (Dewalt, Porter Cable, Bostitch and Hitachi). Mechanically it looks almost identical to these other guns, right down to the rivets.

I am a house builder by trade, and I will definitely be looking at the other Ramsond tools as I need replacements over time.

UPDATE: Three years later, I still use this machine as my sole roofing nailer. I've lent it out to other builders, and reshingled an additional 5 roofs with my own hands. It continues to kick butt, making me feel pretty smart for choosing this one over a Dewalt at 2-3x the price!

You get what you pay for. There is no bump mode. It is a semi automatic that jams up unless you treat it nice. Hate this gun and would not recomend it to anyone. Sending it back. Learned my lesson. China sucks. From carpenter since 1983

I am very pleased with the purchase of this roofing nailer. I only had a couple of nail jams and they were due to my lack of oiling. I did not have an oiler attached to my air line and just needed to add a few drops of oil every couple of hours. The only problems that I see with this tool are: 1. The depth adjustment needs to keep being reset. It does not lock into place and tends to keep returning to the max dept setting. 2. The single shot or bump to shoot lever also does not stay in place. Being an amature roofer, I used single shot for accurate nail placement and if the lever for bump shot moves, you get multiple nails if you hold the trigger too long. This only happened a few times out of about 7,000 nails. Not a big deal, just something to watch for. This tool more than paid for itself in one roof job!

This really worked well last summer when I had to roof a 12X12 porch. Really handy and much easier than using a hammer. I does what it is supposed to do!

I bought this specifically for two re-roofings here .. went through 12 squares of architechtual shingles without missing a beat .. wish I had something like this in '83 when I did the original roofing myself. Got the nails (7,200 $25) and shingles (12th square free) at HD .. and probably saved 20 hours of carpenter's time at $35/per .. $700 easy. This is a complicated job .. 3rd story coupola .. lots of step flashing .. all that. One handed nailing enhanced worker safety by magnitudes up there.

I ordered overnight shipping on this, as my carpenter was enroute from San diego .. but it got "lost" somehow at the Oakland terminal. I called the Amazon CSR, and they shipped me another one, and they (Amazon) forked out for the Overnight shipping. Got it the next day.

Perhaps if you are a professional roofer, spending 3 times the money for a "familiar" brand may be an option, but for 90 bucks .. to save mabe $700, along with the priceless enhancement to worker safety, I highly reccomend this nailer. Even the case is made very well. Excellant product, and superb customer service.

Good gun for a person that is going to do three roofs. After three my gun broke. I had it over a year so the the warranty is expired. But if you only plan to do a few roofs its cheaper than renting one.
