Patented Two-in-One Magazine and Driver System
This dual-purpose tool has a patented two-in-one magazine and driver system that accommodates both cleats and staples. Designed for 15.5- and 16-gauge staples from 1 to 2 inches, and "L" cleats from 1-1/2 to 2 inches, the magazine has a 100 staple/cleat capacity. Loading the fastener is quick and easy--simply pull the magazine back, drop in the fasteners, and release the drawer--it takes less than 10 seconds.

Precise Air-Powered Operation
The Ramsond RMM4 operates with the power of compressed air (60 - 120 PSI) and is equipped with a standard 1/4-inch NPT air inlet for easy compatibility. To use, simply attach your air compressor's hose to the RMM4's air inlet, then rest the nose of the RMM4 squarely against your work surface to fire.

The direction and angle of the staple/cleat will be automatically aligned for precision driving. And with only a slight strike of the mallet upon the actuator, the RMM4 will shoot a cleat nail or staple through your flooring at the proper angle and depth.

Patented Air-Booster Chambers
Most conventional flooring nailers/staplers store compressed air within the body of the tool. Upon mallet strike, the air reserved in the body of the tool is released, driving the blade and shooting the fastener. The RMM4 takes this design one step further. In addition to storing compressed air inside its body, the RMM4 continuously stores compressed air in two patented air acceleration/booster chambers located in the handle.

By storing extra compressed air, these sealed chambers ensure that the fasteners shoot with sufficient force for perfect penetration in the flooring surface. The booster chambers also accommodate quicker retraction of the actuator and blade when compared with conventional units.

Non-Marring Base System
Featuring an adjustable non-marring base system, the RMM4 provides protection against scratches and allows you to drive fasteners fast and close to the wall. The base system is equipped with two composite disks in the front, a middle guide, and a rear nylon-derivative plate. The combination of these three mechanisms ensures that the surface of your hardwood flooring is not marred or damaged during installation. It also provides for tool balance and optimal positioning against the work surface for fast, accurate installation.

Was skeptical, as I usually am, but this tool lives up to its name.

Have installed alot of 3/4" 2-1/4" plank oak flooring with it so far, have had 1 misfire. Instructions say to not hit it too hard, but I found that it takes a good solid whack to get it to fire completely. Once you do that, it's a breeze. Always seats where it's supposed to, and fires the nails to the right depth. Too light a whack will not sink the nails.

It's really solidly built and balanced really nicely.

One drawback, I wish I could check magazine level without opening it up, but it's not too bad. It makes a hollower sound when you're dry firing.

As most other people who bought this flooring nailer, I couldn't justify spending 400 plus on the Bostich or Porter Cable. I don't like renting tools from the home improvement stores because I like the freedom to use the tools whenever I want so I can do the job at my own pace. I gave it 4 stars because when I first hooked up the air supply, I heard some air leaking from where the handle meets the body of the nailer. I found that some of the bolts were not fastened down all the way. I just took the wrench that was supplied and tighten the bolts and it hasn't leaked air since. The other reason for 4 stars is that the logo's and SN are just stickers, and the user manual is not that great for beginners like me. As far as the functioning of the nailer, it gets 6 stars! I put down 3/4 inch pre-finished oak floor and the RMM4 worked perfect without a single misfire! Overall, I would recommend this tool in a heartbeat, especially to those who are trying to decide whether or not to buy or rent.

I purchased this nailer after seeing the high price of the Bostich. I was skeptical regarding its low price, and apparently rightfully so. After 300 square feet of nailing, the unit began to leak air. I took it apart and reassembled and it began to work properly. 200 square feet later, I was forced to repeat the same process. After another 300 square feet, it began jamming every fourth nail. The one year warranty sounds great, until you realize it will easily cost $25 (or more) to ship such a huge nailer, in addition to the $35 "diagnostic and handling fee" the company charges regardless of warranty status. What a scam. I should have gone with the name brand.

prompt shipping, before using I tightened all allen bolts on product, gun seemed to work fine but after installing about 100 ft of 3/4 wood noticed that base shoe was leaving slight impression in wood finish after every shot!!!!!!! noticable when light reflects on floor. I relieved edges of base plate with coarse sand paper and it stopped making the dents. Would suggest this mod to everyone. No jams for first 10000 cleats then multiple jams, every 100 or so yet to determine cause. hammer head came loose after 100 shots but drove the handle wedge in further and solved that problem. Have about 800 ft wood down with product so far.
Update: after approx 50000 cleats gun started leaking air badly, after tear down discovered torn gasket... replaced w/ spare supplied gun did not make it through one strip of cleats before it started leaking badly again disgusted I have not torn it down again but reverted back to my old dependable Bostitch stapler as I suspected this gun will not hold up for long..... A one job throwaway... Chinese junk. I would not recommend at all!

I bought my Ramsond flooring nailer/stapler on e-bay. I used the last part of a box of nails then went to staples based on what a professional floor guy told me. The gun functioned flawlessly. It is easy to use, the stapling action drives the t & g flooring tightly together eliminating any gaps. It works just like my pro friend's Bostitch.

I installed about 200 sq feet of 3/4" x 2 1/4" red oak flooring and stored the tool in my dry basement for almost a year. I started installing the same material in a 400 sq ft room. It worked well for about 100 sq ft. And then the nailer broke. The pin which holds the staple driver to the piston snapped, and the driver was now free. This part looks identical to the Bostitch part.

Ramsond sells the gun with a package of o-rings, hex wrenches and a stamped steel wrench. Disassembly was not easy, but I was able to get down to the piston/driver assembly. When I tried to take this apart, the aluminum pieces broke. I went to e-bay, emailed Ramsond (actually Padova Imports) and the next day had a reply to call their parts dept. They shipped out a new piston/driver assembly for about $35 with shipping and I had it in less than a week. (I cannot blame them for the gun being out of warranty.) WRONG PART. I'll return it tomorrow and see if I can get the correct part.

While it worked, this flooring gun was great. But mine did not work for long.

There is a difference between a name brand (Bostitch) tool and a Harbor F&S or a Ramsond tool. Quality materials and quality control make a difference. In general, I have not had good luck with the off brand, cheap tools but still buy them in hopes of hitting the jackpot. I guess I never learn.... Bottom line, my pro flooring friend has gotten years of trouble free use out of his Bostitch, and while I admit one tool does not a statistical sample make, my Ramsond failed after a few hours use, and the support was questionable.
