3.0 out of 5 stars A very enjoyable read ....., November 3, 2007
The Rancher's Mistress by Kay Thorpe
Harlequin Presents # 1924 - December 1997
Scandals! themed series

Alex was relieved to hear from her brother Greg, and quickly took up his offer of a visit to Wyoming to meet his new bride and stay at the dude ranch they own. Leaving London and her modeling career were no hardship. The last thing she expected was an instantenous attraction to her new sister-in-law's brother. Cal was tall, dark and devastating and just as attracted to Alex. But Cal had preconceived notions of about models, that they were free with their affections. Alex found herself falling hard for him and quickly giving in to their passion. When a reporter comes to the dude ranch and recognizes Alex, he threatens to tell Cal the exact reason she left London and her career.

This story is written from Alex's point of view. We only understand Cal from his words and actions and the information given by the other characters in the book. Ms. Thorpe defines his character very well, but that lack of POV to me leaves him a bit of a blank page. Both Cal and Alex are strong, passionate characters. It's fun watching Alex give back as much as she gets. All in all a very enjoyable read!
