A Splendid Selection of 21st century Ranch Life,
By j. j. molloy "oreganus" (Bloomington, Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ranches of the American West (Hardcover)
A fascinating look into the life of today's ranches. Most of the ranches featured are working ranches, breeding and
driving cattle and horse stocks. The architecture of new and old structures is described in detail, historical events and stories are not overlooked.

This review is from: Ranches of the American West (Hardcover)
Rizzoli offers here a magnificent book which showcases ranches -- both the oldest working ranches and brand new structures -- from Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, California, Oregon, Texas, and New Mexico. As historic as many of these ranches are, this is a book about high-end living.
The photography is rich and evocative with a mix of images that stress architecture, images that stress interiors, and images that capture the land. And stories about the ranches are not neglected. A big book: 288 pp, over five pounds, color illustrations throughout. |
