The Firm meets Zombie Land... except better. This book reminds me of home, and then destroys it. The detail that must have gone into writing this novel is ridiculous. Character development is amazing, although you will be horrified because the ones you love the most, just may be the first ones to go. Read it. It's stand on your seat exciting!

Zombies raising from the grave ! Zombies that cannot be killed!
The characters are none beleivable, who cares who dies, throw in a bad guy and the tale goes down hill.
But at the end, funny how the Zombies are all dead with no explanation.
Sorry Mr Douglas not one of your better story's.

If you like zombie books then Rancid is a must read. Douglas' story telling is very unique and fun to read. He gets personal with the characters and makes you truly care about them. This inevitably forces you into the book making each page worth turning. Great book! You won't be disappointed.

If you're a zombie lover, and I'm not just saying this, you absolutely have to read Rancid! Whether you're a fan of Return of the Living Dead or the new fast-paced Dawn of the Dead (or both, as in my case...) you will love this one! Rancid really combines the best of both worlds and gives zombie-buffs everywhere a reason to read! Personally, I'm really excited about this book because it's a fresh, terrifying, graphic gore-fest that sticks to the classics while integrating not only a little of the new zom-pop culture, but originality. Just like JAWS made people want to stay out of the water, Rancid will make you want to stay out of the cemetary...particularly during meteor showers!

Normally I go into a bit more detail in my reviews, but I can't without giving away the shock and surprise of this book. It's one of those "gotta see for yourself" type of things.

I must admit I was a bit taken back by this book. It started off moving kinda slow but before you know it you are put on a face paced roller coaster ride through zombie hell!!! I really enjoyed how the author made you bond with each character and almost remind you of people you may know. This book definitely has some serious gorse out moments for you gore hounds out there. All in all I really enjoyed this book, the only flaw that I found was maybe how anti-clamatic the ending was. It honestly left me wanting more or at least a better conclusion for the survivors. I am going to keep my eye on this author, there is some serious potential in his work.

I really enjoyed this story. Zombies are the coolest of monsters, and this story has them everywhere. I loved how they started in the cemetary, and the whole thing was just so like Return of the Living Dead 2. Teenagers, zombies, the little town....no big city and soldiers everywhere. really good!
