5.0 out of 5 stars History Teacher Loves It
As a high school teacher, I find this slender atlas invaluable. The maps are very well done, and even the smallest countries are well marked. Textbooks cannot keep up with changing borders, and these maps are comprehensive. The small wire hooks work very well to keep it in my binder.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for continents, not detail
The book is like the size of a small workbook. I was sketching the world using it and it allowed for a focused look at small parts of the world at the same time. All the projections are different however and some portions of northern Europe and the pacific islands are lacking. Good overall but if you are looking for details about specific places you might have trouble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good little atlas, September 28, 2000

This review is from: Rand McNally Notebook World Atlas (Paperback)
This atlas has 3 small wire rings attached to the binding, allowing it to be inserted in a 3-ring binder. It has large maps of each continent, several U.S. maps, the flags of the world and a mercator projection map of the world. All in all, not a bad deal. Compares favorably with many larger, more expensive atlases.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the price, this is great, November 22, 2010

Sure it could be more complete, as you won't find every country's major cities here (check out India), nor is the index complete. However, the maps are folded well, easy to read, colored well with mountain ranges and deserts clearly listed. Even better, the map follows a logical East-to-West progression around the world so you don't have to jump back and forth to a ToC. I use it when reading travel books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where's Philadelphia???, October 10, 2007

We give this to all the freshmen in our school, and Philadelphia has been left off the map of the United States. That hardly seems fair.

February, 2009 Update: Philadelphia is labeled in the current edition. Excellent! I'd make it 5 stars if changes were permitted.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my notebook atlas, October 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received my notebook atlas promptly and am very please with the quality. It fits nicely in a three-ring binder and the metal clips make it slide easily and it's not hard to open the pages inside the binder. It is easy to read and shows a fair amount of detail on each page. I would recommend this atlas for anyone looking to learn about the places of the world and the country flags.

4.0 out of 5 stars Basic, July 5, 2011

This is as basic as it gets. Don't expect anything other than a map view of all the continents and major cities in each country. I purchased it primarily to look at the european countries and the page fold runs right through it :) I'll have to purchase a better one next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small but mighty atlas, January 7, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Unfortunately, the atlas arrived bent with dog-earred pages which didn't make me happy as I bought as a gift for my sweetie. He loves this atlas. It's better than a globe because it doesn't take up a lot of space. This atlas is small enough to tuck away in a 3 ring binder or in between other books & pulled out for quick reference. My old man wanted to be able to look up the location of countries and oceans and this is just perfect. The pictures/maps are concise and clear. It also has a place to look up each countries flag.

This map book is just the right size for casual use. Although I sometimes wish the print was larger, then it couldn't be as compact. I love it.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH THE COST!!, December 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought this for my son for Christmas to use as a stocking stuffer. Even though he is only 9, he is fascinated by geography. Though the "book" was only about $3, I didn't think it would be printed on such incredibly flimsy pages (thinner than an average magazine). The description made it sound more like a true book as it was described to fit in a binder. It also came in a less than flat status because it had been placed around another item in the box.
