5.0 out of 5 stars What is everyone's problme?? This is fantastic stuff!
I don't see what everyone hates about this book, I loved it! I've enjoyed Dilbert for years and this book is just as hilarious as the others! Yes, pretty much every strip that turns a business cliche into something literal (i.e. scapegoat, meeting moth) falls completely flat but all the other characters from the boss to Wally to even young Asok are in fine form. 2.0 out of 5 stars Dilbert May Be Running Out of Gas
I think this compilation of Dilbert strips from 1998 and 1999 show that Scott Adams is running out of funny ideas. I haven't laughed much at Dilbert the last couple of years and this collection confirms that. I have been a big fan of Dilbert since the early 90's, but I think Scott Adams' dependence on reader input for ideas instead of those generated from his own...

Yes, pretty much every strip that turns a business cliche into something literal (i.e. scapegoat, meeting moth) falls completely flat but all the other characters from the boss to Wally to even young Asok are in fine form. Scott Adams has certainly not lost his edge yet, Random Acts of Management continues the Dilbery legacy in style and proves once again that Dilbert is one of the best strips out there.

I've grown up with Dilbert and belive me when I say this stuff is great. My favorite character is definetly Wally because he's so lazy. The Dlibert books are great and they always make me laugh. I have 11 Dilbert books and I really can't say I dislike any of them. A great deal for you money and one of the best Dilbert books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as some other books from Adams, but still great., March 25, 2001
This review is from: Random Acts Of Management:A Dilbert Book (Paperback)
Somehow, as soon as you start to think Dilbert is dying and few new ideas are coming around to Scott Adams, he creates another succesful collection of hilarious comics. And while it's not as great as some other efforts, this is still a good buy. Any kind of Dilbert comics you want are in here, whether it be about secretaries, interns, strange, bizarre, or anoying co-workers, and anything else you might want.

What can I say? It's a Dilbert book; if you like Dilbert, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't. It isn't the best Dilbert book out there, but it's not the worst, either. (And of course, for those of us who like it, even the worst Dilbert book is worth reading.) It's good, chuckle-producing fun, but not rolling-on-the-floor laughing fun.

I think this compilation of Dilbert strips from 1998 and 1999 show that Scott Adams is running out of funny ideas. I haven't laughed much at Dilbert the last couple of years and this collection confirms that. I have been a big fan of Dilbert since the early 90's, but I think Scott Adams' dependence on reader input for ideas instead of those generated from his own corporate experiences (he quit his job several years ago) is starting to drag the strip down. I also think Mr. Adams' is spending too much time on the business side of Dilbert (TV shows, product marketing) to give the strip the attention it needs. I hope that he'll remember what got him where he is today and focus his energy on his comic strip in the future. If you've got all the books, get it, but if you want some laughs, try some of the earlier Dilbert compilation books instead.

I own 8 Dilbert books I would say that this is my favorite. This book represents the best of Dilbert and has some of the most hilarious cartoons I have read. I would definitely recommend getting this.

A perfect laugh-along for all managers such as myself. If you got the dough, buy the book!

I just hope that they won't be re-used in future books...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dilbert humor is a good way to cheer yourself up if you are caught in the corporate bog, March 2, 2010
This review is from: Random Acts Of Management:A Dilbert Book (Paperback)
To most people that read and chuckle over the Dilbert comic strip, it is an act equivalent to whistling past a graveyard. Clueless management, phony numbers, insecure workers and poor quality products touted as golden seem to be standard fare in the modern corporate world. Nearly everyone that reads the strip recognizes incidents from their work history and if nothing else laughing about it is a good way to cope and release frustration.
If you are insecure in your job, and if you are it is a sign of sanity in modern times, then keeping the most positive attitude possible is the best way to cope. An injection of the wry humor of the Dilbert strip is a good way to stay cheerful, although it is natural to groan at the humor on occasion.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Dilbert Books, September 17, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Random Acts Of Management:A Dilbert Book (Paperback)
This is one of the best Dilbert books ever. It has histarical office humor. The majority of frustrated office workers can probably relate to Dilbert. Though I do not work in an office enviornment, I surely can often relate to him and his problems. Dilbert, Wally, the boss, Alice, Asok, Dogbert, and Catbert truly shine their totally funny sides in this book on lunatic office life.

As always this collection of dilbert strips is funny. This appeals particulary to those in the engineering field who work in large companies. I alway can relate to these strips and that is what makes them particularly intresting.
