Editorial Reviews

From the Inside Flap

The crosswords are fun and easy and the books' small size means they'll fit anywhere--in a carry-on bag or attaché case, under the Christmas tree, or on top of a night table. Solvers will want to keep Cozy Crosswords handy for whenever they can grab a few minutes of R&R. It's perfect with hot cider at the ski lodge and even better with hot cocoa in the kitchen.

My daughter and I love crossword puzzles for relaxing after a long day. Stanley Newman's books fit the bill in addition to being small enough to easily slip into a handbag and carry along.

I thought it would be "medium" and therefore somewhat a brain tickler/teaser, challenging me but entertaining. It leaned into the "easy" range instead, and therefore did not present many challenges. I soon lost interest in the book and now am skeptical about ordering any that are labeled "medium". I had ordered a large book (300) described as "easy to medium to hard" puzzles, but I found them to be 90% HARD, so a trifle deflating again. I can't afford to be ordering books for little to no pleasure plus "brain work".
