This is a fairly prototypical book of collected puzzles, and as such, is fine. There is certainly nothing wrong with the work Stanley Newman has pulled together here. What is not fine, though, is the inexplicable use of mass-bound pages in this omnibus product, making it virtually impossible for the user to easily fold back the book pages to the puzzle s/he is on, or to hold the book open to the puzzle page s/he is on if s/he wants to do a puzzle lying down, for example. All RH puzzle books should use the spiral-bound format of its other puzzle books that include folded leafs on front and back covers wherein the user can mark the page one is working on, as well as the solutions page for that puzzle (not that anyone ever sneaks a peak, of course!). Unless you do your crosswords sitting down with the book on a table or other hard surface, and you don't mind having to hold open pages while you try to work the puzzles, I don't recommend this book. I do mind, and that is why I do not recommend this book. Random House Year Round Crossword Omnibus (Newsday)

The year round compilation makes for a thick book and therefore not as easy to stick in my purse, or to even open or tear a page from. I find I prefer the smaller versions.
