All over the map, stylistically for R & B and Pop Natalie does well with retro-throwbacks the likes of which would make Miss Diana Ross crazy a la "It's a Beautiful Day" which is a modern-day take on Miss Ross' "Chain Reaction". She sweetens the pop pot with the progressive divadom of "Things that You Do" and her soulful "How I Love 2 Love U" would make miss Mariah Carey's nu-soul of "I'll Be Loving U Long Time" - which incidentally fell flat on the charts after the success of "Touch My Body" - look shabby. "Hold Your Head Up High" is a Marvin Gaye-Stevie Wonder tribute with Natalie doing a spin of the original vocal riff found in "I Want You" at the end of Gaye's original. The true gems here are "Around the World" a contemporary take on Michael Jackson's "Rock with You" which being billed as the first emphasis track at Internet radio should propel Natalie into the mainstream with its nods to Janet as well; the beautiful "I Knew You Were the One" which has crossover hit written all over it and of course what should have been the first single sent to XM/Sirius for consideration for Suite 62 play which is supposedly so open "You're Mysterious".
Brown even mainstreams the Jill Scott-vibe with "Let's Just Waste Some Time". It appears with this new release Natalie is coming closer to a revelation about herself and her music and her next release promises to be even more distinctive. For a supposedly low-budget release, the production values and orchestration are far superior to "Let the Candle Burn" which yielded many hits at BeSonica and this promises to yield no shortage as well.

Natalie Brown is an awesome talent and awesome person. If you do not believe me go to YouTube (Natalie Brown) and see what Teena Marie has to say about her. Ok . . . I know you probably want to know what she said right now. Teena Marie said that Natalie Brown was AWESOME. That carries weight. I have her cd and it is hard for me to choose a favorite song. I can listen to it from beginning to end and once again.

There's nothing more honest than staying true to yourself and your craft. When I hear Natalie's music I feel it's all derived from a true place deep down in her soul. It is obvious that it's not forced and I love that in any music! It should just flow out of you! Moreover, for Natalie, it flows so beautifully.........
A truly gifted artist...... Written so purely..... Hmmmmmm...... "I Wonder" what's next for her.... I see greatness......walk into it...... Keep the music coming.....you're pushing other artist out of normal rotation on my Ipod...LOL

Natalie Brown has a voice that can lull you into dreaming of the soul of the past--while anticipating the unique & current pop sounds for which she is already well known. Natalie is definitely an internet pop/soul sensation & this album could easily propel her into mainstream notoriety.
And in addition to her vocal talent & the obvious professional production values, the song, "Queen of Me," is simply delightful . . . personally telling lyrics with which most anyone can identify.

This is the third CD I own by Natalie Brown. I also have her previous releases. I have loved her since the first time I heard her sing. Upbeat passionate soulful and a bit jazzy as well. Her range of talent is extraordinary.
The new release is by far her best work. Reminds me of Glady's Knight, Jewel, and Mariah Carey all in one. I want to listen to this all of the time. Natalie Brown Random Thoughts This may be the first review I have written on Amazon. I believe it is important to let people know about Natalie Brown and give them the opportunity to enjoy this refreshing and simply beautiful music, So that more people will watch this very talented, dynamic and remarkable singer songwriter! I treasure my Natalie Brown Collection and it is sure to be in many more collections for years to come filed under 'most beautiful turn of the century classic pop singer songwriters' music.
