5.0 out of 5 stars Finally A Genius Remembered, October 16, 2000
By
Kelly D.Cordahl (Hatton, North Dakota) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Randy Rhoads Tribute (Audio CD)
Finally the music commumity is remembering Randy Rhoads for his amazing playing and well structured songwriting. Let's start with the singers. Sebastian Bach(I Don't Know, Crazy Train, Believer) does an amazing job capturing the power of these songs. Joe Lynn Turner(Mr Crowley, Over The Mountain, and Diary)does his usual pro job. Rob Rock(Goodbye To Romance & S.A.T.O. does a great job(a singer to watch). Mark Slaughter Revelation-Mother Earth & Flying High Again)sing better than I've heard him sing in years. Now for the guitarists. Jake E. Lee(Crazy Train & Revelation) plays like I have never heard him play before. Roy Z(Goodbye) does a respectable job. George Lynch(Mr Crowley & Flying High Again)does a downright "Scary" job. Japan's own Kyoji Yamamoto(Revelation)does the closest impression to Rhoads I've ever heard. Chris Impellitteri(Over The Mountian)does a good job, a true Rhoads fan here. DimeBad Darrel(Believer) has the standout preformance here, so good it's frightening. Chet Thompson(S.A.T.O.) does an inspired job, an interesting side note, he took lessons from Rhaods as a teen in California. Thompson plays with a fire I haven't heard in years. Finally Wolf Hoffman(I Don't Know, Diary of A Madman)plays ok on I Don't Know, but plays with a passion of the early Accept albums on Diary. Now the backing band.Kane Roberts(guitars):Alice Cooper.Al Pitrelli(guitars):Megadeth Michael Cortellone(drums):drums. Mike Brignardello(bass):unknown. Bob Parr(keyboards):studio musician. Make a stellar band to pump up the energy on this cd. Michael Wagner handles the production duties here and does his usual tight sounding job. Although it has not been released in America. It is well worth the extra money if you are a true Randy Rhoads fan. Thanks for listening, Kelly D. Cordahl
