Not what I expected for a remote control shark.
K. Jewell
You need two people to put them together, one to hold the inflated fish and the other to attach the fins with the not so sticky tape provided.
S. Leonard
Go to air swimmers.com and order it from the originals.

Purchased the set of two, one clownfish and one shark, as fluffer for my girlfriends birthday. These turned out to be a big hit. Everyone loved watching these float around, and more fun to control them with the remote. You really need to be mechanically inclined to assemble these though. Found out that you also need to add extra tape to hold down all of the mounts. Be patient, take your time, assemble them correctly, and you will have a blast like we did. I carefully deflated them and put them away in a good box. I am planning on setting them back up next year for the 4th of July.

Chinatown has fake Kate Spades and Amazon has fake Air Swimmers. I purchased a genuine Air Swimmer Shark two years ago and on accident-- a fake "air swimming fish" this year. It is downright creepy how detailed the fakes try and replicate the box of the reals. (like those phishing scams on the internet with fraudulent ebay links or Wells Fargo sites) PLEASE just go back and search for the real Air Swimmers by William Mark. Our fake doesn't even fly. It just sinks.

Let me list the way the way the fakes are cheap.
1) wrong fish came in the box
2) instructions are filled with typos and don't match the contents. They are just a copy of the reals- but the fakes don't have the same items. Extremely hard to follow.
3) adhesive squares are barely pre-cut and come off the backing only after peeling off with your fingernails. And they barely stick!!!
4) the tracking gizmo is curved (you want straight)
5) the plastic is so lightweight and thin.
6) pocket closure for putty was broken
7) seam was crooked and doesn't lay flat (real one did lay flat)
8) tape doesn't hold
9) our fish sinks and doesn't fly.
10) I can go on, but I've wasted enough time already on this. We LOVED LOVED LOVED our Air Swimmers tm by William Mark shark!! This fake "air swimming fish" is a complete disaster.

I got these as Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephews and they LOVED LOVED LOVED it, once we all put our heads together to figure out how to put the fins on. The numbers and letters on the instructions were different from the numbers and letters for the actual parts.

You also have to be careful putting these together since the pieces are made of lightweight materials in order for the fish to be able to float. I do not think they are cheaply made at all, but they are lightweight and require some care when handling.

The remotes worked perfectly and there were sharks and clownfish swimming all over the house! The kids loved it.

this was a chore to set up but really awesome for about 2 days but worth it :) The dogs loved it and my parents and elderly guests were amazed.

I would suggest taking this to a party store to fill since the little tanks you can purchase seemed less effective. If you are getting this as a gift if possible assemble it already because the set up took so long and we made some mistakes since we were excited to get to it.

On the outside of the boxes it looks like you received two fish. You need to open the boxes to see you did get one fish and one shark. This would be ok but I bought these for a gift so I did not want to open the box but had to to see if I did indeed receive a fish and shark. Just some confusion. It seems the outside of the box should say what is on the inside.

The instructions are a little ambiguous, but it's pretty easy to assemble and fill these up. The adhesive used for holding the fins and counterbalance to the main body seem sticky enough, but keep falling off after a few hours. I used a helium tank purchased at my local Wally World which worked great for filling one balloon and topping it off for a month. Not sure how much helium is left in the tank after that.

My 6 year old Grandson was just thrilled when he opened this for Christmas. He is still very excited to play with it.

The directions are confusing and almost not worth following. You're better off using Scotch tape than using the tape they provide with the kit. Either way, this is cheap entertainment. Of course the parents will have more fun with it than the kids, since kids no longer play with tangible toys.
