5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY - A STORY THAT FITS THE MORALITLY OF THE TIMES, February 2, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Ranger's Woman (Harlequin Historical) (Mass Market Paperback)
Piper Sullivan wants to declare her indendence from the ruling males of her life. They aren't always right with their decisions.
Why do these females [of this day and age 1877] seem to think they can control the situations that they run into?

Then we meet Quinn Callahan, a Texas Ranger that is working undercover to catch the renegades the are working in his area of southwest Texas.

There are two vendetas running through this story with Piper, as "Agatha" caught in the middle. Piper ends up needing Quinn to rescue her from the banditos and a wreck. She also does her best to agravate him. And yet she is fascinated by this masculine savior.
And much to Quinn's surprise Piper tends to send his hormones into overdrive.

Quinn finally agrees to make a marriage of convenience with Piper to save her from her father's decree. He will ride off into the sunset.

Ah, the story unfolds with some fascinating fall-outs. When Piper finally finds her sister.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Definitely a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story, wonderful characters....what a wonderful read!!, March 8, 2008
This review is from: The Ranger's Woman (Harlequin Historical) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book! Piper is running away from her wealthy papa and a totally unacceptable fiancee, and to gain her independence, if she can only reach her sister. She's disguised as an elderly matron named Agatha, saucy, feisty, and independent. Quinn Callahan finds that this woman is just that, with and without her disguise. Quinn Callahan, undercover Texas ranger, is handsome, tough, and all man. When "Agatha's" disguise is suddenly ripped away under dire circumstances, Quinn is besotted with this feisty, devastatingly beautiful female. But,he has a mission to complete, and he can't forget the promise he made to himself. Besides, due to his past, he knows he's all wrong for her. He tries to abandon her, with orders how she can quickly find help elsewhere, but Piper believes that he is her only chance. So, she quickly makes him see that he must take her with him. As their adventure continues, deep feelings grow between them, in spite of Quinn's persistent attempt to distance himself, with plenty of laughter, pleasure, and an awareness of their own characters that neither one of them would had, had they not met. Piper's father, sister, her husband, outlaws and rangers definitely make this story interesting as well. My first Carol Finch story and I am completely hooked!!! A keeper, and a must read!!!
