5.0 out of 5 stars Learn Ranma's secret fear and meet Shampoo's great grandma, February 19, 2001
By A Customer
First of all, the review above is actually a discription of the Ranma video,"Cool Runnings", which is set after this one. In this video, we learn in the first episode about a tramatic training exercise that left gender-switching martial artist Ranma emotionally scarred at a very young age. Now Ranma is absolutly terrified...of CATS! Simple, ordinary felines leaves Ranma shriking in terror. When Ranma's enemy Tatewaki Kuno and his loyal manservent Sasuke (who makes his first appearence here,) find out, they plan to use it on him! What's worse, a mysterious cat has been delivered to Ranma from Shampoo, a girl who wants to marry him.

In episode two, Ranma is reunited with Shampoo and her great grandmother (who claims to be 300 years old.) Granny is now determined to make Ranma Shampoo's husband, whether he likes it or not. After he defeats great grandma in combat, she puts a curse on him, rendering him unable to touch hot water, the very stuff he needs to turn back into his true male form at the end of the episode. (This becomes the main conflict to be resolved in the next tape, "Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire".)

5.0 out of 5 stars Ranma 1/2-Anything Goes Martial Arts,Vol.3 Cat-Fu Fighting, August 12, 2000

FUNNY! This video is the probably the best in the Anything-Goes Martial Arts series. Ranma and others are on vacation in the mountains during the winter months. Everyone else is having fun skiing and playing in the snow, Ranma-chan is trying to figure out how to get the "Phoenix Pill" from Cologne. A contest is by Cologne for a skiing contest. The rules were simple, everyone has a snowman, if your snowman gets destroyed, your out of the race. Cologne also ups the prize by putting her great-granddaughter, Shampoo on a pedestal saying the wiiner gets to go to go on a date her and gives Shampoo the Phoenix Pill to get Ranma-chan's attention. After everyone is eliminated, Ranma-chan and Cologne are left. Both destroy each others snowman and the fight begins. I'm not going to give away the ending but, lets say Ranma's fear of cats come in handy at the end.
