From the eyes of 12 year old students!,

After teaching O. Henry's story, "The Ransom of Red Chief," I showed this video to my classes. It is difficult to catch the attention of this age student, but they loved the video. Many even were laughing out loud at the shenanigans of the characters, particularly when the child "got over" on the adults. The actors, particularly Jack Elam, appear to be perfectly cast. This version stays true to the original short story.

If you're looking for a wonderful short film for viewing with your children try this out. Jack Elam and Strother Martin are perfect as the hapless kidnappers. Great fun for the entire family.

This is a wonderful fun story. My children were abit put out over the shortness of it,they really enjoyed it. I had watched this as a youngster and had been looking for the tape, glad to have found it. No worry over lyrics or content. Just a rotten kid and rotten kidnappers. Who wins out? Watch and see.
