My son was extremely excited to have his own tools to put in his tackle box. I don't know how much use we'll get out of them, but he likes them and that's what matters.

Very cool present for a fisherman who is maybe ages 8 and younger! It has a disposable camera of 28 pics, a kid friendly pair of pliers, a weigh scale (which is not the best made, but works fine for kids - it makes them feel like they can help too!), and it also has a measuring tape. My son was so excited he had to go out Christmas morning to try it out! It even came with a log book and that was the best part! Now he can throw these into his tacklebox and log all the fish he caught and use his own camera, so my digital one does not get ruined. I would buy this for any young fish lover! He is 6 and just loves it! It gives him his independence as a fisherman and makes him feel like he has something important to do when he catches a fish! Great gift!

Wound up purchasing 3 of these - haven't been used enough to vouch for how well they will last, this was purchased more for pretend than as a functional tool, but grandkids and nephew were very pleased. It does reinforce good citizenship in terms of taking care about what to keep and what to return. I only gave it 4 stars because it hasn't been used enough to vouch for quality, but my 9-yr-old nephew was very excited to receive it, probably more than 5-year-old who was a bit young to weigh and measure, but they all liked having the their own kit. It arrived on time and well packaged. Would definitely recommend for the 8-10 year old range.
