18 years ago my dad and i used the black and silver version in the south platte river in deckers, colorado and were catching trout left and right one morning. some fly fisherman walked by us and said 'you aren't gonna catch anything with those here!', boy did he eat his words after being the smart ass i have always been said 'we've been catching all morning with them' and my dad got one on the first cast after he said that. we never saw him catch a thing while he was in view of us.

Until the time of year when even the mornings are hot and the water temperature drives the fish deep, this (along with Rapala minnows and broken-back minnows) is a lure I throw all day long. On 6 or 8 pound test, they cast nice and long. Keep the rod tip high for very shallow running, tip low to drop down a few feet. They're great on lakes, running over weed beds and structure. Trolling 'em in the shallows works well, too. On shallow rivers, Rapala's finish seems to handle quite a bit of punishment as they bounce off rocks and rarely, if ever, chip. In 30+ years, I think I've lost two Rapala lures to damage.
Simply put - Buy 'em, you'll like 'em!

This is another great Rapal product, like all the Rapal lines they swim great, look great and have very sharp hooks. I remove the barbs for catch and release, well worth the money as all Rapala products are.
