Absolutely Increidble,
I rarely post reviews, but I so disagree with the first review on this knife I had to put in my own experience. This knife makes filleting a dream. For panfish, crappies, walleye etc., you cannot beat the speed and precision of this blade. The other reveiwer must have just gotten a bum unit.
Take this fish, head to the left, back towards you, run the knife in behind the gill, turn and go right through the rib cage to the tail. Do not cut off the fillet, flip it over and continue your motion and the fillet comes right off the skin, all in one smooth motion. After you get a pile of fillets take each one and put the blade right under the top of the rib bones, and give the knife 2 quick triggers while pulling up and the rib cage is out. You will NEVER have bones in you fillets again. The knife is so great it makes me want to go fishing more. -Kevin

Field test of Rapala electric knife,
The Rapala electric knife does an outstanding job fileting the first two dozen Sockeye Salmon you catch. Each side of the fish comes off perfectly. The 12v adaptor makes river side fileting a dream. The problem is either the knife edge or the mechanism fails after say two dozen fish. The serated blades appear to be sharp after moderate use, but the knife simply does'nt work through the fish as it should. Had to revert to the traditional filet knife as it became faster and more efficient to use the old traditional filet knife. Liked the product but it must be more durable to pass a true field test.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
On first use the plastic adapter plug broke. (the one that plugs into a cig lighter) Taped it back together with electrical tape, hope it works a second time. The knives didn't seem to flow through the fish as easily as our previous electric fillet knife, but it was alot quieter. The cutting board on the back side of the case is a wasted design as it is WAY too small to actually fillet a fish on. Lastly, my husband said it will take him longer to get all the cords back into the case so it will close then it did to fillet the fish. We may end up storing it in a zip lock bag just to save the hassle.
