Item arrived in fine condition and with all the accessories. It's nice to have the flexibility to charge either in the car with a 12v outlet, or 120v mains power. Charges batteries fully in a reasonable timeframe.Time will tell how durable the unit is (it doesn't feel quite as solid as the original Canon ones) but it's by no means chintzy. Appears to be a great value for the price, and I would recommend to a friend.

Sometimes, there are great bargains to be had and sometimes you get what you pay for. At under $4 I thought this was worth the gamble. Short story....I lost. It worked for ONE charge and then overheated the second time I plugged a battery in. It's Done. You win some, you lose some. I will keep looking for the next bargain.

Rapid Charging,

As others have cited the charger feels a little slight in the hand but it charges canon and third party LP-E8s just fine. Just don't toss it around and you'll be ok. If you're on the wall just go for it, you won't regret it. Having the prongs recessed into the back of the unit so there is no cord to wrap up or lose is a nice feature. Charging in the car is also a bonus. Can't beat it for the price. It also charges faster than the canon branded charger that came with the t2i. Tested by charging two dead batteries from grip at same time.

I got this charger out of a good deal with 2 batteries and Battery grip and I decied to test it out on one of batteries and while on my computer and it was charging in wall socket - I heard it pop and then I went over to it was smoking.Don't believe any of higher ratings on this product. I should have believe the others one. Keep in mind, I didn't even get a single charge out of this product. Luckly it was cheap and did not want to use it charge one of my Canon batteries. I wanted to test this charger out because my Nephew purchase T2i on eBay and purchase charger and desired to test it for him before he used. I have a canon charger.

First time I used it, it made a loud "pop" about 5 min into the charge cycle and stopped working. You can smell the burnt electronics in it. Glad it was cheap.

DID NOT WORK!,

I have bought TWO of these cheap chargers now for my camera, both of which burned out. It is not the socket or the batteries I assure you. I used separate batteries that I know work and have charged with other chargers, and separate sockets in separate houses! The first charger I bought charged one battery and then burned out on the second battery and refuses to work. The second charger I bought burned out within the first fifteen minutes of it's use. I plugged it into the wall with a battery to charge, and within fifteen minutes it simply shut off. I checked it with different outlets and batteries to no avail. The charger itself smells burnt now, like melted plastic. These chargers are a RIP OFF!AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Fire hazard much?,

I bought this charger with fast shipping because I desperately needed a new one immediately. After reading the reviews I thought it sounded decent. After my charger arrived late, I had it plugged in for no more than 15 minutes, and I heard a popping sound then quickly ran over to it to see that there was smoke coming from it. >__>If I had known this was going to happen, I would have bought an original charger. Go for a more expensive charger. This was a waste of my time and money.

Fortunately I was in the room when using the charger. After 5-10 minutes I heard a snap and crackle and turning around found smoke coming from the unit. This thing is totally worthles and a fire hazzard.

I haven't used the car charger part but it really gets the batteries charged when plugged into the wall. Its a bit sturdy, I feel like its kind of cheep at times. I would recommend this to someone who needs to charge their batteries really quick.

Extreme fire hazard and should not be sold,

I would only buy this if you don't mind the risk of burning your house down. About an hour into the first use of this charger, it made a loud pop, made a huge amount of thick smoke and was very hot. Fortunately I was nearby and was able to disconnect it - it could easily cause a fire if left unattended. Looking at the other reviews, it is obvious that this is not an isolated experience. The seller was very prompt about giving a refund, and I thought they had acted upon my suggestion that this product should no longer be sold due to its risks as a fire hazard, but now I see it's still available for sale here.
