This wine chiller works well in keeping a prechilled bottle of wine at correct temperature for a few hours. While it is neither the best nor the quickest method available on the market, it does an adequate job of bringing room temperature wine down to serving temperature.

Pros:
* Easy to use.
* Faster than just sticking the bottle in the freezer or fridge
* Cleaner than putting the bottle in a bucket of ice and water: no drips.
* Easier to use than a bucket of ice: once you take the bottle out for pouring, it is difficult to push it back down far enough into the ice to continue chilling the bottle.
* Divided sections ensure even chilling, maximizing the surface area being chilled.
* Divided sections prevent the liquid in the product from freezing unevenly so a standard bottle always fits.
* Reuseable
* Won't use up ice that may be needed for making other drinks.
* Product available in a variety of images/artwork or in plain colors to match decor/help differentiate between different wines.
* Reasonably priced.


Cons:
* The product is sealed end-to-end and cannot be unrolled for multipurpose use as an ice blanket.
* Because it is sealed end-to-end, the product can only be used for standard wine bottles. Larger bottles and irregular shaped bottles won't fit into product.


I would reccomend this product to everyone who drinks/serves wine, especially, picnicers, BYOBs, people who love to entertain.

This product does a good job if you need to quickly chill a bottle of wine. I've seen this product in wine stores for a lot more money. Great for putting in a picnic basket with a bottle of wine for a present, or carry with you on your own picnic.

It really cools the wine fast and looks nice. Great gift to take to a dinner party. Not good for keeping things cold for long (1+ hours), so drink fast.

Here's an important thing to know about wine:

Serving Temperature is one of the factors that affects the taste of wine and
is under your control. Tools that help you control serving temperatuer add to
your pleasure. Here are two ways to use this tool-


*You put it around a cold bottle to keep it that way. For instance, if you're carrying
white wine to a BYOB or a picnic, the sleeve will keep it at serving temperature.
It seems to last for about an hour and a half if it's wrapped with something insulating.

*You put it over a room-temperature bottle of red wine to cool it down to a proper
serving temp of around 60-65F.


At this low price, anyone who takes bottles of wine to friends or to restaurants should
have one.

this product is definately worth the money. it's not like the ice packs you put in a cooler. it never gets hard. you can leave it in the freezer for when you need it. and it will pretty quickly chill your red wine to the proper temp. i would recommend you chill your white wine in the fridge first and then use this to keep it chilled on the table.

Love this wine chiller. Inexpensive and you don't have to plan ahead for unexpected guests. Five to ten minutes will put just the right chill on a bottle of wine. Perfect!

It cools wine from room temp to "not too cold" in 5 mins, and keeps it there for about an hour before it starts to warm back up. So stop talking so much and drink your wine.

I wouldn't expect this to really chill a bottle of wine, but it's sure handy to put over a bottle while it sits on the table. It keeps the wine chilled while sitting out.

Tired of showing up at that dinner party with warm wine because your city's public transit takes forever to get you there? Want your wine to stay cool on the bus ride across town? Well, this thing will fill the bill. Take your chilled bottle of wine out of the refrigerator and slip it in this handy dandy freezer-cooled wine cooler collar, and you're good to go no matter how long it takes you and your bus to get there. Right before you hand the wine to your hostess, slip the Rapid Ice Cooler off the bottle and stick it in your sport coat pocket or back pack. No more having to pay mom-and-pop prices for chilled white wine! I have the chrome colored version, but these grape colored version would look better sitting on the dinner table.

If you have no lead time, this is better than nothing. In the past I have resorted to keeping a bottle in a large Pyrex bowl with water and ice. This product is much better than that approach. I keep it in the freezer all the time, and I bring it out when I want a white on the spur of the moment. I agree that it will not keep wine cold for three hours, even if you started with a very well chilled bottle. It is nice, though, for covering up a label if it is ugly or shows that you bought cheap wine!
