This product works well to chill a bottle or keep one cold, but I've found that it's really an either/or solution. You can either chill a bottle of warm room temperature wine OR you can keep a pre-chilled bottle cool for quite some time, but not both. Based on my experience, if you use this to chill a bottle, the cooler becomes too warm to keep that bottle chilled for an extended time.

This chills to the recommended serving temperatures of most wines, but for those needing the biggest chill (such as dessert wines or Riesling), this doesn't get quite cold enough. I've observed that, once frozen, this can take a bottle of wine from warm room temperature (about 77) down to the low-50s, which is perfect for most white wines. But again, if you're serving a wine that likes to be in the mid- to low-40s (or if you just prefer your wine extra cold), this won't quite cut it. If you're curious, all of my tests/experiences are based on freezing the chiller in a 0 degree F freezer. Your results will obviously vary depending on the starting temperature of your wine and the temperature of your freezer.

Overall, I'm quite happy with this product, mostly because it lets me get to my wine faster! Just be aware of this product's limitations and it should meet your needs.

Helps to chill a bottle of wine faster, but not sure if it does quick enough on it's own. The freezer helps!
Not bad for the price and works great for a picnic, but will not keep the bottle cold for as long as I had hoped.

Doesn't do the best job but it's better than nothing. If your wine is really warm, it won't even get it close to cold enough. Wouldn't buy again.

I could not be more happy with this product. Living in an apartment that doesn't have a lot of space has allowed me to realize I need to rely on smaller gadgets to help me. This wine chiller fits in any nook or cranny in my freezer so I only have to chill that and not make room for a bottle of wine in my fridge. It definitely chills a bottle very quickly and refreezes fast as well.

Not my first Rapid Ice product, and it works as expected... the right tool for the job.
