Easy assembly and good instructions. However, for the price, you would expect better quality. There are some plastic parts and the unit doesn't feel as sturdy or as well made as a Rapid Reel that I purchased about 3 to 4 years ago that was all metal construction and built like a tank. The fittings were also heftier in the previous model. The quality has defintely slipped a notch or two. Still better than the plastic hose reels on the market, but a disappointment for the price and as compared to an earlier Rapid Reel. It appears that a concious decision was made to reduce manufacturing costs, which in turn, sacrificed quality.

Having gone through both all-plastic and plastic-metal hose reels in the past 5 years, I was looking for the best possible reel on the market and perhaps now have it. The reel is very well-made, and lets me manage my 150 ft of heavy rubber hose with ease! There are very few plastic parts, and I recommend it highly!

After going through plastic reels every two to three years, I am very happy with this heavy duty reel. I can put 150 feet of hose on it without having to worry about it falling apart.

I NEED A HOSE REEL TO HOLD AT LEAST 200 FEET OF 5/8 HOSE. THE HOSE BARELY FITS. I'M SURPRISE THAT IT STATES 225 OF HOSE MAYBE 1/2 INCH?

The Rapid hose reel delivers on its promise of being a high quality product. The instructions for assembly were clear and assembly was relatively simple. The portable hose reels I used previously were of the Ames plastic variety. This Rapid model is definitely in another league from a feel and handling standpoint.

The adjustable tension brake is a nice feature that works well to avoid slack in the hose. The tubular construction gives the feeling that the unit could be abused with no ill effects to operation. After about a month of use I have no water leaks from the fittings. The large pneumatic tires provide easy rolling over the lawn, especially as compared to the small plastic wheels on my other hose reels. The relatively high height of the hose and handle make for easier handling with less stooping than on my other reels.

The only downside to the Rapid reel discovered so far is that there is no basket or pouch attached for carrying accessories like extra quick disconnects, nozzles, etc. I will probably fabricate something simple to add to the structure for this purpose.

In summary, I am very happy with this purchase.

I have had this hose reel for a year and a half. It has been outside the whole time and, unlike the many plastic devices I've had before, this one has held up through hard freezed and 100 degree days. It still works perfectly and smoothly with a nice, crisp, reassuring click with each turn of the wheel. I am about to buy a second one for the other side of the house.

Assembly takes some time, but the parts are well-engineered, making the experience pleasurable.

Best Price found on internet! Sturdy construction outlasts all of the cheap plastic models and also rapid reel competitor ames (which rotted out on me)and had to have numerous patch jobs.

You still have to put together and company would have made a better product if they had welded the entire frame together. Just a machine and not perfect. Too bad it wasn't welded and cost about 100.00 bucks even...

Still you got a good product for about 150.00 not sure if I would pay 180.00 for it...

I am very pleased with the quality of this product. It is more expensive; but you get what you pay for. I have purchased both the four wheel wagon and the two wheel cart. I did have a small problem with the cart; but I contacted Rapid Reel's Customer Service and they took care of my concern immediately. Smooth working, unlike jerky plastic molded reels which always have tight spots. High quality construction. Easy assembly (Important to have the correct size phillips screwdriver. I thought I would get by with using the first one I picked up, but it didn't work out.)

Long ago I saw a sign in a clock shop, "When you buy quality, you only buy once". After wasting lots of money through the years on several of those not-so-cheap plastic hose reels, I decided to stop the madness and buy a quality product. This Rapid Reel product is well made, easy (socket wrench) to assemble (30 minutes), and destined to last. It is also made in the USA! I like this product so much that I recently ordered a second one. If you need a quality hose reel that won't tip and are tired of the plastic junk, I highly recommend this product!
