Customer Reviews

Very concise and easy to read review of physiology.
Rachel Kornik
The depth of information is just right for studying for USMLE step 1 and includes "notes" that tie the physiology in with relevant anatomy, pathology and pharmacology.
E. Roth
The student consult company has said that the questions are no longer available for this book even though the same information is provided in a newer edition.

This is by far my favorite med school text. It provides very clear and concise reviews of all the relevant physiology for each system, and provides numerous connections to pharm, histology, etc. as well as important clinical notes relating to specific points. I always start new subjects with this book and the rapid review histology - together these two provide a spectacular platform for learning the topic in depth. GET IT.

I really like the format of this book it is very concise, and it doesn't load you down with useless info. It is very easy to use to study from for any physiology class. I am currently using it in my graduate physiology class as a supplement. I recommend it to anyone taking physiology it will make your life easier.

Very concise and easy to read review of physiology. I found the clinical vignettes and correlations especially helpful. Extremely useful as a resource for first year medical classes or as a reference for board review.

The hybrid format of this text was very helpful. It provides more information than texts with simple outline formats without overloading like a comprehensive textbook. For me it is the ideal format for a review text. The many diagrams are clear and helpful, great for visual learners. The depth of information is just right for studying for USMLE step 1 and includes "notes" that tie the physiology in with relevant anatomy, pathology and pharmacology. There are even relevant "clinical notes" that I found useful on the wards.

This book does a great job of highlighting the most important aspects of physiology. The explanations are pretty good- short and to the point. There are of course some sections where the explanations are a bit unclear but again, this is a review book. I used this in conjunction with Dr. Najeeb's videos all throughout physiology and it really works! The only downside to is that the online question bank is valid for only a year and you cannot print it. That's my only suggestion- allow users to print the question bank with explanations.

After having spent hours and hours with Guyton and Ganong, this review is the book that cut the mustard for me. I definitely recommend to y'all med students beginning their career. The early years are too precious to waste on huge books that literally teach nothing.
This is a great review book and couples nicely with the Rapid Review Pathology by Goljan. There are some parts where I would've hoped that books form the same series should be in agreement, at least.

This good assumes you already have studied physiology fairly well and you just need a review, of course. It does provide a pretty good review of the material, with pictures and tables of some of the material. I found it pretty useful.
