Our church purchased this machine a few years ago to fold bulletins we print weekly for our worship services. We are using it to this day, but since we use thicker paper, we can only feed about 10 pages at a time. If you don't keep a hand on the pages, the small centered roller usually pulls the paper in at an angle and makes a bad fold. Sometimes it pulls multiple pages in and jams. About a year and a half ago the rubber roller started to spin freely, which made the machine unable to pull paper in from the tray. My fix was to epoxy the roller to the metal bar. This machine is a piece of junk and we are currently looking to replace it.

For the price of this machine on Amazon, I am very impressed. Although I cannot speak to longevity, I just opened the box today and the machine was ready to go. Folded my 250 mailers in minutes!!! While I agree that 50 sheets may be pushing it on the feeder, and you could end up with one or two on the floor that don't get caught by the tray, overall I rate this machine as excellent!!! For a sole proprietor looking to save time, I would highly recommend it.

THE PREMIER (MARTIN YALE) P7200 LETER FOLDER IS A LIGHT DUTY MACHINE CAPABLE OF FOLDING 500-600 LETTERS PER MONTH. WE BOUGHT ONE, IT LASTED ABOUT 3 YEARS. WE TREAT IT AS ESSENTIALLY A DISPOSABLE MACHINE. IT DOESN'T TAKE UP MUCH DESK SPACE.WARNING: IT IS CRITICAL THAT THE PAPER FEED GUIDES ARE PARALLEL. IF NOT, IT WILL CRUNCH UP THE LETTERS. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU SET IT UP, READ THE DIRECTIONS, AND VERY FIRMLY TIGHTEN THE NUTS. THERE ARE BETTER MACHINES, BUT THEY COST A LOT OF MONEY. THE PREMIER "THREE SHEET" LETTER FOLDER (HAND FEED) IS A TOY.

This unit works great. Feeds and folds just like you would expect. It's quite a bit faster than I thought it would be. It will burn through all 50 pages of a paper feed in maybe 30 seconds. Then you'll have 50 pieces of paper you have to manage. Give to someone else, or stuff into envelope yourself. The different folds are nice, but we only use standard #10 C fold. This is the default the unit ships with, and we haven't touched the platen knobs except to loosen then tighten so we understood the process.

I put out a monthly newsletter and if it weren't for this folder I would be spending what this folder cost in printing and folding expenses. It was a challenge assembling the unit as it came disassembled and not a piece of paper telling how to put it together, but my McGuyver took hold and got it assembled, the folding instructions are not straight forward either, oh ya there aren't any, but a little trial & error and bingo it works like I want and as I had hoped. If it weren't for the laser printer that curls the paper this unit would run unattended. I like it and you will too if you like a bit of a challenge. I will see about posting a video on assembly. that should help since the instruction got ate by the dog where ever this is manufactured. |
