This is an excellent book! "Ringo",a young up and coming rapper and his childhood friend "Brice", a heartless hoodlum, along with another friend decide to "bust a move" as they put it on a check cashing place on Queens Blvd. Well all that could go wrong did go wrong. Blood, hostages, dead bodies, police-you name it. Their friend is killed, and Ringo and Brice end up as fugitives. Each makes his getaway separately not knowing if the other made it out alive.
Fast forward a few years. Ringo is now a famous rapper with all the trimmings, fans, money and drama. Along the way he finds love and some loyal friends.
Brice on the other hand, is a cold blooded killer/crime lord, with his loyal crime squad, "The B Boys". Their worlds collide with dramatic consequences. Sit tight and read as the past hits them squarely in the face, because we all know what goes around comes around and Ringo soon finds out that all that glitters is not gold!
Another well written novel by Relentless Aaron.

4.0 out of 5 stars How Far Would You Go For Street Fame!, December 27, 2007
This review is from: Rappers 'R in Danger (Paperback)
Relentless Aaron has done it again with his phenomenal account of a rap artist's claim to fame, mixed with street violence in Rappers `R In Danger. This story starts off in the streets of Queens Blvd where you find Ringo an aspiring rapper, Brice a terror to all streets, and Cooksie, Brice's biggest fan. The streets watch as you see these three guys take over Queens Blvd, from terrorizing the local check cashing place to being forced to run for cover when chased by some cops after a robbery goes wrong.

Ringo and Brice are on the run, after numerous murders and robberies they are forced to relocate and start over. When Brice's face pops up on a most wanted poster, Ringo is brought back to reality of that day two years ago, when the best laid plan went awry. Ringo takes his share of the money from the robbery and lays low, starting from scratch. He gets a hook-up with a demo and starts pushing his CD in the streets by himself. Porsche is the girl who helps him to build his empire, and she is one of his ride-or-die chicks. Tangi is the local resident in the hotel he chooses to make his home, but she is being pimped by her mother and a high school dropout.

Brice is a hardcore gang leader, ripping the streets of Chicago, New York and anywhere he lays his head. He is down for whatever, from robbing, killing, stealing cars you name it he is involved. Will the cops capture enemy number one? Or will Brice be able to stay underground without blowing his own cover?

This book is filled with mystery, murder and craziness from start to finish. I was a little turned off by the number of spelling errors and repeat sentences, but the story was good and kept me turning the pages. The ending will knock you off your feet. I recommend this book to all Street Lit lovers.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Choices You Make, April 17, 2005

Life is about choices. You can guide the direction of your life by the choices you make. Sometimes when you are young, bad decisions are made that may or may not be detrimental to who you become as an adult. There are some cases where people make bad choices as youth, but learn from their mistakes and turn their lives around, and then there are others.

James Valentine, aka Ringo, is a very successful rapper who is living the life of luxury. He has a beautiful woman by his side, trustworthy friends, and money to boot. He is a smart businessman who has made his way to the top by his own hard work and determination. Ringo hasn't always lived the lavish lifestyle. He came from humble beginnings and opted for a life of crime for quick and easy money. Ringo has a heart of gold and criminal activities really aren't his forte, but unfortunately at the time it's all he knew. On his own time, his passion is, and always has been, music. He would write rhymes and dream of one day making it big and making his money legitimately.

Ringo's dreams come true, but just as he was coming to grips with all the fame and fortune around him, his past creeps up on him and turns his world topsy turvy. Everything he has worked for could come crumbling down all due to the last crime he committed a few years ago. What could Ringo have done that could end his career? Will he learn from his past mistakes or continue to make bad choices, in spite of the fame and fortune?

RAPPERS 'R IN DANGER by Relentless Aaron is a fast-paced, thrilling read. My heart went out to Ringo every time he did something I knew was gonna get him in trouble. I kept saying to myself "when is he going to learn?" Although the storyline was a good one, the grammatical and typographical errors are what gave the book the rating it received. There were several inconsistencies with the spelling of names of the characters: Porsha-Portia, Samaii-Sumaii and Jaime-Jamie. There was even one case where one person started out dating someone in the beginning of the book, but was referred to as dating someone else later in the story. I found myself getting so caught up in the errors that it took away from the book. Those of you who enjoy urban fiction will not be disappointed by RAPPERS 'R IN DANGER, if you can overlook the errors.

This is a true testament of friendship in the hood & family the tale of rap up and coming star Ringo against hoodship of friend Brice. This is such a page turner a great behind the scenes into the rap world, especially the hard pavement pounding, empty promises, shiestyness & hidden agendas. I feel as if I've said too much. I decided to write this 3/4 way thru because I started looking on Amazon for the next book. Enjoy reading it!!!!!
