Had a future if she worked the voice very hard ........,

Nice lower register and mid-range, but her voice is too weak - Chrissie Hynde without the power. And the songs are a problem - self-indulgence is a career killer.

I found out about this album b/c I happen to be one of those poor unfortunate souls who watches MTV's The Real World and actually looked at their site for where past cast members are now. And so, it said for "Becky" that she had an album. Me being curious and an aspiring musician, I checked it out. This is definitely one of the best albums I ever bought. The music is just full of energy and emotion. This is certainly music that is real (as opposed to fake?...laughing sarcastically) and comes from the heart. Her influences certainly can be heard (Dylan, Bowie, etc...), but so can the sound of other modern female alternative musicians like Lori Carson and Ani DiFranco. Anyway, that's how it sounds to me, which is not to say that this is a copy of their stuff. My favs on this album are "Everything that Rises Must Converge," "Six Ft. Off the Ground," "Silver Room," and "Down in the Underground." I recommend this album for people who like GOOD music! What else is there to say now?! Great stuff!!!
