Upon receiving this product I found that it didn't appear to be long enough. The product as received was new and sealed. When measured I found it to be only 91 feet long and not the advertised 100 feet. I also noticed that it didn't seem as heavy as 10 gauge wire I have used in the past so I got out my precision wire gauge and found that this wire was significantly smaller that 10 gauge and appeared to be closer to 12 gauge even though it was labeled 10 gauge right on the wire. I feel that this product is totally misrepresented and therefore cannot recommend it.

As other reviewers have said, 100ft and 10 gauge is closer to 90 ft and 12 AWG. For 12 AWG cable, the price is not so good.

I measured this wire using dial calipers and it measures about 0.080" or 12 gage. Clearly misrepresented. 10 gage measures .108" on the competitors wire. Don't buy this unless you want 12 ga and it's cheap! Python 2 is great speaker wire!

This is 100 feet of 10 gauge wire. 10 gauge is overkill, according to the experts, for the 20 feet I needed, especially since I bi-wired. But at this price, it is cheaper than some smaller gauge wires.
The two strands are copper and silver colored, instead of marking the casing. It does not say it is OFC. But it sounds great.
The only con: This is heavy wire. 10 gauge is the max that will fit in my receiver or speaker posts through the holes.

The product is came with one side in copper color and the other side in silver color. I am not sure if the silver side is real Copper or Aluminum. As others stated in their review, the product I order was only 90 feet instead of 100. I am a little supsious that this wire is slightly less that 10 guage since I couldn't cut through it with 10 guage cut. However, The price is good and I am ok with it even though the guage may be slightly smaller. Most of the home user stereo and home theater system should be enough with this wire. 10 guage is over-killed. In fact, you can't tell the difference between 14 gauge and 10 guage if the length of the wire is less than 50 feet. Therefore I don't see the recent to pay 3x more for the monster cable. [...].

Normally I wouldn't have measured the product, but because others did and found it came up short so did I. Instead of the 100' long as noted on the outside of the reel, the wire measured 90' long. I then realized the product was from China. Next time, I will spend the extra $$$ to buy American and get what I paid for.

No standard cable will improve the quality of your stereo's sound if there's a great distance between your speakers and amplifier, but if the distance is ten feet or less I would wholly recommend using METRA 10 gauge speaker wire. I switched out my old 14 gauge cable for the METRA 10 gauge and the difference was stunning. The overall presence of sound increased exponentially. And yes, I've heard all the arguments to the contrary - that beyond a certain gauge (usually 14)there is no sonic difference. But I'm here to tell you it worked. Beyond that, it didn't cost a million bucks so what's to lose?

I'm using this wire for wiring Infinity Primus speakers to my Pioneer Elite SC-55, and it does fit into the speaker posts and banana plugs, but barely. It's pretty thick and the sound transmission sounds great. I've seen a few reviews stating these spools aren't 100 ft, that they're closer to 90 feet. Well, I used one roll, cut it exactly in half, and each piece was longer than the 50 ft HDMI cable and Ethernet cables I wired at the same time. So, either those 50 ft HDMI/Ethernet cables were waaay too short, or this speaker wire was at least the 100 ft it advertised. I would recommend this for home theater applications for larger speakers. Probably would be too thick for small speakers.

Decent strand count, but the ground wire is not copper as it appears in the product description, and the photo, only the positive speaker wire is copper. Buyer beware!!!

The company makes it seem like they have the stuff and then they dont..charge your card for the product that they dont even have... watch out for this total b.s.
