From the Author

I wrote this book becuase I love the sea and all its hidden treasures. This book was first published by Cerridwen Press and won an EPPIE for Best Paranormal/Fantasy Romance e-book.

About the Author

Raised in a small fishing community on the Eastern shore of Nova Scotia, Canada Renee grew up with the mysticism and allure of the sea. She later channelled that lure and search for the unknown to pursue a history degree at Dalhousie University and later a journalism degree at Ryerson University. From a young naval reservist, to radio reporter, editor, and freelance writer for the local papers, she’s been able to combine her passion of writing with “what ifs” to create her own magical undersea kingdom in the first of a series of Titan books. Renee is a member of Romance Writers of America, Romance Writers of Atlantic Canada, and the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia.

Beautifully written and sensually inviting, Rapture will seduce it's readers with its mythical tale of merfolk enchanting the reader from start to finish. From the moment you meet Seth and Jamie you quickly embrace the tenacity that these two people share and Ms. Fields did an impressive job of infusing charisma and charm into these characters.

As a scientist Jamie is determined to uncover the truth through logic and reason. As the future king of his people, Seth has a responsibility to keep his undersea world a secret from all humans. And so the adventure begins as Jamie is forced to throw all logic out the door when she meets Seth; never loosing her vitality and strength as a woman even when she is forced to face some difficult decisions. Seth's love for Jamie is vast and as a determined male Titan is put through his paces when the women he loves is as stubborn and as strong willed as he.

Lovers of merfolk will want to pick this one up. Ms. Fields delivers a masterpiece to the reader with this page turning suspense. Kudos to Ms. Fields for the yummy sex scenes in this story, which were extremely creative and just absolutely sensational! A fantastic novel I highly recommend.

I have to say that this subject matter is not the norm for me, I tend to roam freely in the land of magic, vampires, and werewolves. So when a book comes along that wants to tackle a different group of paranormals, I tend to get pretty excited about it. After all everyone wants fresh take on the genre they like to read, after all it keeps things from getting repetitive.

Generally speaking the book was an enjoyable read. Especially as the book moves on past the beginning, the characters start to feel more organic, and as a reader you can kind of get behind them and their individual stories more, and therefore the book is more enjoyable. I do have to say I wish we reached this point a little bit earlier in the book, because in the beginning I did feel like it started out to slowly. I think for me the fact that it was a unique idea/a topic I hadn't read before made me give the book more latitude, so the beginning wasn't too bad for me.

I do have to say there were a couple of problems with the book in my eyes. And honestly they are some of the same issues I have with several other books. To start off, sometimes I really didn't understand the characters, one minute I did and everything felt fine and organic, and then the next minute a switch would flip the character would have a completely different emotional response to something and I was left feeling a little confused. I think the author could have clued me into the characters reasoning, or maybe put in more build up to be emotional shifts, but that was one of the issues I had.

I also have to say that while I enjoy paranormal romance (and I really do, the genre has grown on me over the years), I think some of the sex in the book could have been cut done.

This book is great - it has lots of action and plenty of sizzle for those who enjoy a sensual read. Great characters and an interesting plot that kept me turning the pages. Oh, and did I mention the super-hot hero? Yeah...he's to die for.

Number one priority for Jamie Winters is the one-week deadline to complete her thesis and then she will earn her PhD. Plus there's a great job opportunity with the Institute of Oceanography and closely working with the less desirable Dr. Caskett.

Seth Cutter, along with his twin brother Darius hold the secrets of the ocean within their hearts and souls. Previous bad judgment and crimes against the seas has bequeathed a ten-year sentence of land living only for Seth and worse for Darius.

Fate lends a hand when Jamie and Seth meet which sets off a chain of events that culminate in life-altering decisions for an unorthodox orphan and a prince of the North Seas. Deadly foes both on land and in the sea vow to expose the two. Seth has met his match and his mate in Jamie but it must be her choice for their future together with all the wonders and the dangers to accept or overcome.

Rapture is a vividly detailed, multi-layered `tale' of acceptance, carnal desires, insurmountable obstacles and a whole lot of underseas loving. Author Renee Field knows how to build a fascinating world of Titans, Sirens and bad guys on land and in the ocean. There is also an intricate secondary story with the Fates taking note of unfolding events. Rapture is a treat to read! I was totally involved in the characters, their lives and the fantastical underwater kingdom. Sometimes though, it seemed like too much was going on and I just wanted to know how it ended! Having said that, it's a good story to curl up with on a long winter's night and hopefully Darius will find his mate someday.
